I bought the base version of The show 21 a few weeks ago but i want to now get the earl access. When i tried to go to back to the PS store it says i cant buy the deluxe version because i already own the game. Is there a way for me to upgrade my version without just buying the game again?

You may have to contact PlayStation

Yeah contact support. I had to do this a couple of years ago. Think they just canceled my preorder then I ordered the deluxe version.

Just tried that and they said they couldn't refund it

I don't have first hand experience, but according to their own website you have the ability to cancel a pre-order at any time leading up to the release date. Your best bet would be to cancel the original pre-order and then pre-order the deluxe version. If you are unable to get that to work via the store, keep trying to speak to different reps at Playstation until you reach someone who actually knows their own policy.

If the game already pre-downliaded; he can't get a refund.
They should be able to let him pay the difference to upgrade it.
Maybe a dev can chime in on this.

Yeah you should be able to buy the next step up version of the game. Doesn't make sense you can't upgrade your copy. Hopefully you can get someone to help you upgrade.

That’s really good news, glad to hear. According to the FAQ if you’ve downloaded it a refund isn’t an option. Had you already downloaded? If so, whoever you spoke to the second time did you a solid

I did literally the exact same thing a couple years ago. There's no way they can simply do an upgrade, as noted...they need to cancel and re-order the proper version. I personally had no issue, but it's possible you just got the wrong customer service person the first time and needed to call back. I also think if you make a habit of doing this often they are less inclined to offer the refund, in my case it was my first time ever asking for a refund so it was seamless for me.

Glad it worked out for you!
