Expect Tatis to be in the 30k range.
I think he’ll be more then that day one. Diamonds are really over priced for the first few weeks. Plus he’s a cover athlete? More in the 50-90k range imo
Guess we will find out in a week!

Welcome to the game and if you have any questions use the forum. Most people on here will help you out.
Say, thanks so much I appreciate. This seems like a pretty friendly community compared to 2k and Madden. I've been wanting to play this game for years and can't wait, but it'll be interesting for awhile since I don't know what to expect. I know the 2k Myteam market really well and that's a huge advantage. I bet the PS guys will get some good deals off of us Xbox guys for awhile but it's well deserved as you guys are the OG's.
The markets aren’t very similar tbh. Live series cards (League cards) hold there value in this game because there is a 99 overall collection reward for all of them, a top 5 card in the game all year sort of reward. 3 of them actually. So Mike Trout or even the second highest card won’t ever drop to the level regular LeBron James or Steph Curry does in 2k. Each team also has a nice reward, so the rarest card on each team also holds it value pretty well.
The cards you don’t want to hold onto for long are the rewards, missions/programs, events or ranked seasons. Technically what you want to do is earn them as fast as possible, sell them immediately, then buy them back once 95% of people have earned them and it’s dirt cheap, given you even want the card. TRUST ME this is the #1 easiest way to make coins by just playing and a tip you’ll want to use on the very first program so you get a somewhat head start. Think of it as packing the very first of whatever promo card NBA puts out and buying it back for 25% a week later. If your really in it, buy 4 or 5 of them back and one day the other 4 will be worth 2000% when collections come out.
There is also no auctions, so don’t worry you’ll never really undersell a card. There is only a buy now and sell now option, if you sell something never use the sell now, when you buy never use the buy now, place bids or list them. You can also do this on just about any card and continue to make money all the time, bid 5,000 wait for someone to sell, then list it for 7,500 and wait for someone to buy. Ez buckets

Yes you can, but he is a diamond player so it requires you to get lucky and pull a diamond (if he starts out over 90 overall he’ll be even rarer to get). You can also buy him off the market but I would avoid doing that the first couple days because his price will be high because people are gonna try to complete the live series collection day 1.
Your second part is individual goals. You get rewards for completing live series and other collections. Advice if you pull a trout or another high diamond sell them because the price will be high the first couple days, especially with Xbox players now. But if your goal is to complete the collections as fast as possible and don’t want to deal with the market hold them. (I’ve opened thousands of packs between ‘19 and ‘20 and haven’t pulled trout once).

I don't agree with selling high diamonds in the first couple days. For example Trout is always chepest in the first days and his value is rising for a couple of weeks. The reason why is he rising is in more and more stubs people have.
In case of Tatis, it depends what overall he is. If it it over 90, buy him as soon as you can. If he is 89 and less, you could wait a litlle bit, because his price is gonna decline slowly

My son. This is the calm before the storm🤪
There are toxic people everywhere!! Never let them ruin your experience or enthusiasm, though.
Another thing to beware of is some players, no matter how much you like them, may be hard to hit with, aka, a bad swing. A lot of players here had that issue with Tatis Jr! So be careful going for your heroes.
Welcome to the show, as this is a great game. -

Yeah they are overpriced the first few weeks. He will be 30-40k instead of 5-10k. He won't be over 50. He's not the only diamond on his team, he's not a division or league gatekeeper, and he isn't even the highest rated shortstop. Cover athlete or no if they don't completely destroy the pack odds of the past few years he will be cheap

Yes you can get him day 1 no problem. I personally don’t like playing with him because of his low vision - He’s fine on all-star but becomes much harder to use on HOF...That’s just my opinion though, Others rake with him.

Rampant speculation: Last year, there was an in-game tutorial that if you completed, you got a 73 Rookie Baez. Wouldn't be shocked if the same applied this year and the rewards was a Rookie Tatis.

I’d disagree on the selling high diamonds...I believe trout was around 200k on opening weekend last year and if I remember correctly his price got up into the 300k range.

Agree to an extent, but if I remember trout the first night got up to like 400-500k range because people were trying to buy him to get the collection done and were buying stubs like nothing. I remember YFKyle put like $1500 into the game to afford everything. I’m guessing with how many million stub orders there are for rare cards in the game now, people are gonna be more free spending early on guessing stubs are gonna be easy to come by like they were this year.
Add that to the fact that the game will be “free” for Xbox ultimate people, my guess is people who have both systems are going to choose the Xbox version and will put money they would of spent to buy the game into buying stubs instead early on.

Although it will be on xbox game pass free, it doesn’t have the early access for free, so those people will be 4 days behind.

You may be right, I don't remember it so exactly, but say after the first day, when big money spenders get him, he's gonna settle lower and after normal release of the game, he's gonna rise in price
