What i heard must have been about sharing with other next gen owners.

There is a Stadium Creator Vault where you can upload your own created stadiums and download other stadiums from the community.

The only thing to know is you have 30 slots for Stadium Creator. If you create 30 stadiums or download 30 stadiums, you are limited to 30 slots.

Thanks for the response! If I match up with a PS5 user with a created stadium selected in online play, will the stadium graphics show on the PS4?

In online you select your stadium prior to matchmaking and if you have a custom stadium selected, you will only match up against other next-gen players.

To make it 100% clear. Stadium Creator and the stadiums created with it can only be played on next-gen platforms.

This is game-breaking. Since I only have a PS4, if I decide to play online, I won't match up with any next-gen users (as long as they pick a created stadiums)

I could’ve told you this was gonna be a thing. If they don’t let people make stadiums and it’s a next gen feature there is no way to run the stadiums on past gen consoles. That’s a given. If the stadiums could run on past gen they absolutely would had put it in past gen games

This limits the random match-ups on next-gen consoles; maybe in the future they’ll patch in something that defaults to a common stadium if a next-gen is matched up with a current-gen. Or automatically puts the next-gen user as visitor in such a match-up. Would be a shame to see next-gen users having to wait unnecessary long times for a random match-up.

That's not "game breaking". In case you haven't noticed, not everyone has been able to get a PS5. Its not like you're gonna be sitting in lobbies twiddling your thumbs for hours on end trying to get a game.

That's kind of deflating because a lot of us don't have a PS5 to this date not because we don't have the $ or credit/debit, but because of SONY and their failure to have systems available to all, yet have the Bawls to still show their Got Dang commercial for it.

I think it’s pretty obvious that most next-gen players will figure out quickly that if you want the most match-up options, play online with a normal stadium. Simple.

But slots for 30 unique stadiums is pretty cool, I thought it would only be a few slots.

The fact that people playing in custom stadiums will only match up with next gen users was to be expected, but it is still disappointing. I was hoping that maybe the stadium creator was too intensive for PS4/Xbox One, but the stadium itself would be playable for all if it fit the online enabled criteria. I guess that was too much of a stretch.

Mafia mentioned this being a game breaking issue, and while I don't completely agree, it could be a minor issue for next gen players. There are only so many PS5 and Xbox Series out in the wild. Then you also need to consider how many of those next gen users are actually interested in MLB The Show. Then how many of those players will be playing online in the same game mode as you at the same time?

Obviously at this point we just have to wait and see, but I wouldn't be surprised if that searching for opponent bar is moving to the right a bit more than usual if you are using custom stadiums. Xbox Game Pass is actually a huge benefit in this regard. The Series S is much easier to come by, and with The Show being free to play if you have a Game Pass subscription, that means there could be a lot more people to match up with using custom stadiums than we would have had otherwise.

I don't think I'd consider it even a minor for next gen users. Its not like we can't choose a normal pre-rendered stadiums and match up with anyone. Its only an issue if you absolutely insist on using a custom stadium. I guess it kind of sucks on the possible limitations but I don't think there will really be any issues in finding games.

How does it limit the match up? The fanbase is probally gonna double? If anything matchmaking will be quicker.

There are two versions of the game. Last gen (PS4/Xbox One) and next gen (PS5, Xbox Series). The Series S may not be as powerful as the X, but it is still considered a next gen console and will use that version of the game. That means you should have access to stadium creator and I haven't heard otherwise.
