A heads up for new x-box players.

This community is so kind and compassionate, haha.
Compared to what EA and 2k offer up for “ultimate team” modes, the show is a breath of sports gaming on a budget fresh air.
Honestly the only advice any new players need is to work the count and enjoy the grind. It’s well worth it. Joey Gallo will win you just as many games as one Michael Nelson Trout will.

Im confused on how some people can say doing BR is a good way to get stubs. How many ppl could really say they went 12-0. Spendin stubs to enter kinda makes it a big gamble. Its Ive never actually tried to do BR alot, i just never had enough stubs to want to gamble because to me its like spending 1k on a pack and getting nothing. Ive went 12 0 few times in events and id say im slightly above average player but yea BR to make stubs just seems like luck with 3 inning games
It's designed for the Elite. They created the mode b/c they complained about playing full 9 inning games. Now in a sense they control the market. These guys are also the same guys that get to WS which those rewards i am ok with But it is essentially Double Dipping Rewards b/c these same people that complained about 9 inning games are doing both. But BR Rewards selling for 1 million and they only played 36 innings tops pffff GTFOH! That's one of the main reasons i dont play ranked.
These guys go 12-0 in 3 inning games most of thier opponent quit after 1rst HR. That's 36 innings probablly less. But avg joe playing RS has to play 9 9inning games if they do it undefeated to get to pennant race diamond for a 5 k - 10kcard That's 81 INNINGS! One of the main reasons why i don't play ranked. And why i don't buy those cards.
BR Rewards need revamped big time it makes me sick logging in and seeing that mode knowing somebody didn't grind as hard as me and just made a million stubs!
You make some good points. Good players get the good cards while the rest of us who are not good don't get the cards we need. What would you suggest they change?
For me, I think C.S. should get the reward W.S. players get.
An idea for BR would be if you at least go 9-0 you get some kind of chance for the 12-0 card. Like a choose pack A, B, or C. It's just an idea that would give players who are average to get cards that the elite get.

DD isn’t pay to play — even time consuming wise you can win in certain areas and sell big cards to finish collections.
There are countless ppl with “no money spent” videos you can watch. You can get every single card without spending a single dollar outside of the cost of the game. So I don’t understand why you would tell people that.
Even the absolute best cards in the game can be obtained through going 12-0 in BR
I certainly agree that DD is probably the best for NMS players compared to all other UT games out there but let's not act like going 12-0 in BR is common or anything lol
No 12-0 is not by any stretch an easy task but on that road to 12-0 there is a lot of rewards and possible stubs especially early on that are worth it for collections with the possibility of a big cash out.

For starters. 12-0 is one of the hardest things to do in the game. People quit after one inning the first 3-5 games but when you get to the third tier and you are playing your 6-9 game run and 9-12 game run those are usually some hard games for the most part. Generally you don’t see as many quits when you are playing other people in similar win situations as you are.
Secondly. Not to be a douche. But if the grind “isn’t as much as the grind you did” then just grind that and get those rewards? Obviously we both know this is the harder route to grinding. And if it’s the harder route then how is it you worked harder then someone that did the hardest thing to do in the game....
The reason the stubs are that high is because that’s it’s demand of cards that are rare and hard to achieve....it’s not like someone decided that price. The market is willing to pay that price.

So I’ll be switching over to my Series X this year. I will be the first to admit my disdain for card collecting/team builder modes.
Diamond Dynasty is the most user friend of them all. I went a year where I spent stubs and another where I didn’t. The only difference is the speed at which you’re team is built and honestly, there isn’t huge difference between the two; maybe day 1/day 2 versus a week to build a solid team (I said solid, not stacked). My advice for new DD player:
- ask questions, any question and you should get an answer. I have even had guys offer to get into a voice chat.
- Flip cards, Flips cards, Flip cards. There are millions of DD players, you’re not the only guy who has or needs a specific card for a collection. Additionally, 150 stubs per sale adds up faster than you think.
- Just PLAY. Login? A reward. Played a regular game v CPU? Here are some stubs. Played DD online? Stubs. Played DD offline? Stubs. MtO? A bevy of rewards. It’s gotten to the point where if I say baseball in a public space, stubs will be added to my show account.
- Last one: Play your way. Meaning: choose the hitting, pitching and fielding mechanics that work for you.
It’s a well made game and I am thankful that it’s on the Series X. If your on the One or Series X/S hit me up and let’s play ball.

What was BR now gets mixed in to top 3 Reward avenues. Maybe make 1 or 2 rare for BR and Events not 10 or 12. ( referring to 96 - 99's when i say 1 or 2)
As far as BR goes since it is 3 inning games like Events, i would tie Event rewards to BR, so if you missed Events you have a chance to get the rewards later.

going 12-0 is WAY harder than making world series. BR rewards should be the best

I agree with everything you said except flip cards. It's extremely difficult to flip cards at the beginning of a game and it's like that for the first couple months. And now we have a ton of x-box players coming to the market, I think it will be even more difficult to flip cards.

Perfect advice. I've owned MLB The Show every year since its inception in 2006. I will happily be playing MLB The Show on my Xbox Series X this year and to all new MLBTS players for the first time on the Xbox do what Hammie just said. Play. The. Game.
You get XP, stubs, and cards for doing anything in this game. Play how you want to and what modes you want to. If you stumble into a DD mode and want to try it out after a month of franchise, MTO, or just exhibition games you will have some good cards or packs you probably didn't even know about.
-
this is why I love Baseball. I love that teams like the Dodgers and Yankees will always be able to buy their teams and teams like the A's or Rockies will have to work with what they got because it makes their success all the more worth it. It's David vs Goliath and I'm okay with that.
My biggest issue with this game is the fact that I think some players have a better response time with the server than others. I obviously can't say for sure but I don't think pitching rebel is hitting .420 out of ISP in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Hell I bet he can't even pronounce it!
He's still a beast, don't get me wrong

So for RS I would make PR live series diamond to help with collections, DS and CS would now become what PR was lower tier for DS Higher tier for CS and then Make WS stay same.
Not sure what you mean for RS. PR gets a diamond so DS and CS get what?
Ranked seasons Penant Race gets any live seies diamond for collection purpose. Whatever cards were gonna be used for penant race and BR will now be distributed to Division,Championship, and World series. (tier based off of level you reach.)
DS 90-93
CS 94-96
WS 96-99Your biggest issue is there were no live series cards above 95 overall. That was Trout
Live series pack would only go to PR
The other rewards would be similar to way they are now just you are adding BR Rewards and what wouldv'e been PR into mix
The rewards are progressive now though. So you'd be giving WS players a free LS diamond on the way to WS in season one, every season then on they'd get one for a starting rank higher than PR.
What do you mean? You don't start over every season anymore? Oh hell nah.
Yup Franchise and RTTS and vs CPU they can have that screwed up method. That's just dumb. That would be like telling Dodgers "oh you made it to WS last year so your regular season doesn't matter" congrats your'e automatically in the playoffs.
And all these people around here pissin and moanin about rng and check swings and they are startin higher every season? Wow DD sucks worse now no wonder i quit playing that mode.
Omg i'm flabbergasted. Why has nobody complained about everybody not starting on even field every season?
That changes everything! My first thought is that means the leaderboard is skewed.

I will not touch DD with a 10 foot pole. I am strictly a Franchise player.
Thanks for being a man and not a casual noob.

It’s gotten to the point where if I say baseball in a public space, stubs will be added to my show account.
I just did this while at the gym and I got 500 stubs.

I love that teams like the Dodgers and Yankees will always be able to buy their teams and teams like the A's or Rockies will have to work with what they got
That makes me the Pirates of DD.

I played the show on a PS4 Pro I had a few years back. I am down to 1 system, Xbox SX and cannot wait to dive into Franchise mode on it.
