I bet you guys are excited for mlbts to be coming to your consoles. Welcome to you all. I think a heads up is in order since you guys are new.
I wanted to let you all know about diamond dynasty, the mode they promote the most. Yes its fun playing with flashback players and legends and building your team. What they don't tell you is you have to pay with your time or your money. You will have to grind the you know what out of the game to get a good team on the field. Or you could pull out the credit card and buy your team. If you don't have a lot of time and or money, this may not be the best mode for you to play.
Online alternatives are custom mlb leagues and if it's still in the game online rated where you can jump into a game anytime using any mlb team.
Again, welcome and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

There are other online alternatives. Conquest is only 3 innings so if you are pressed for time. You can play moments to aquire cards. BR is only 3 innings if you are pressed for time, And XP reward path gives you loads of packs, stubs and player just for playing game anywhere.

I never said they didn't give anything out. They do give out stubs and free packs which is way cool. I'm not saying it's a horrible mode. I'm saying those legends they're promoting aint going to be easy to obtain. thats all.

If it's not a money grab or full grind, then why play? I would expect some cards to be much more challenging than others. Just like every other year.

If all the cards were easily obtain, you would hear a lot of complaints, because even the weakest players could get the extreme cards. That wouldn't make much sense for the more skilled players. SDS is the best game when it comes to obtaining cards and not having to spend money.

Everything in 20 was easy to obtain, except the 2nd extreme reward and Gehrig. and that assessment doesnt compare 20 to 18.

If it is like 20, you can play a modest amount and have a top notch team. Definitely in years past though you had to put some time in to get the best. But 20 was sooo easy to get stubs, and rewards it was insane.

Here’s what it comes down to — nobody needs to buy stubs unless you’re an irregular, casual player who wants all the elite cards.

You can get most any card in the game, provided you can do one or more of the following:

    • Play a lot. It doesn’t really matter what you play (except maybe Challenge of the Week), if you play a lot, you’ll get a lot of XP and eventually unlock a lot of cards / stubs. And Conquest always has a lot of hidden packs.
    • Be good enough to advance up the ranks in PvP modes like Ranked, Events and BR.
    • Learn how to play the market. Rarely will someone tell you exactly how best to trade, but you’ll figure it out. And always up a bunch of buy and sell orders before you close the game, so that you can earn stubs while you’re away.

So even if you play exclusively offline, you can still get who you want, but it will take some dedication to the marketplace in addition to your grinding. But still very do-able.

    Hello new Xbox users,

Thank you all for joining our community, we're glad to have you. I know some people like the OP want to scare you about DD. The majority of us know that you've still been able to play games like Madden, FIFA, NBA 2K, NHL, etc. who require far more of your time and hard earned money to play with the cards you want.

You'll find DD is nothing like those modes. Your cards don't disappear, you don't have to Jack with multiple forms of currency, and you can skip paying extra money for a team to be able to compete.

I know sounds great right. You guys are going to love it here. See you on the diamond!

    Sincerely,

    Not a grumpy Debbie Downer

Entirely inaccurate fake news as always. Nobody has better teams than no money spent players in fifa. You wouldn’t know because your of the crew that claims they haven’t played an EA game in a decade but always tells you exactly how they work.

From Day 1 pay to win players will have the same advantage they always do in this game, load up the CC for direct in game currency which gives direct $ values to every and any player in the game on day 1. Not pay to win though. The best card in the game and three 99 overalls that won’t be matched for 5 months can be purchased the second the game is live, not pay to win though. TA is the only grind in the game and it’s 100% purchasable....oh sorry, you can’t buy the gold prospects, just the 99 overalls face of the franchise and finest cards.

There was what, 10 cards total this year you can’t purchase for an exact dollar sign?

I'm pretty sure I'd get smacked around from top tier players with my diamonds and their commons. Its all about RNG and hitting. I don't have great PCI placement, so pay to win doesn't mean much to me. Cards in this game doesn't make you that much better, you still have to do the basics.

Diamonds verse COMMONS? In 20? I don’t know about that man on allstar the person with diamonds is usually gonna win. This game isn’t that skill based it’s very random.

Ah so you're going to gloss over the fact the best two pitchers in the game for the first 5 months were XP rewards only available by playing the game...

"Uh Breaker 1-9 I got a grip on your lip but you might wanna start grabbin back downstairs to the double nickels 10-4?"

Sorry had a moment! 🙂 it means "i hear what your sayin but slow down ok?" 🙂

Just b/c someone has those cards does not mean they are gonna win, they still have to know how to use them.

    Just tryin to have fun!

Nah, DD is the most friendly in all sports games you can play.
I think everyone is prepared to invest at least some time in these kind of modes

Im confused on how some people can say doing BR is a good way to get stubs. How many ppl could really say they went 12-0. Spendin stubs to enter kinda makes it a big gamble. Its Ive never actually tried to do BR alot, i just never had enough stubs to want to gamble because to me its like spending 1k on a pack and getting nothing. Ive went 12 0 few times in events and id say im slightly above average player but yea BR to make stubs just seems like luck with 3 inning games

You mean like every other sports game with an ultimate team? lol Of course - however compared to fifa, madden, and especially NBA2K, it's pretty easy. Besides if you really like the game and play it everyday, is it really a grind?

A play fifa 21 FUT and have never spent a penny.

1,500 to enter and you are getting at least a pack for your trouble. Early on silvers and gold's are pricey. So your pack could get you something nice and a 6 win run can make you a profit. Get a 9 or 12 win run and you can make a good profit.

It's definitely not a guaranteed thing though.

I think it's all about what you want out of it. My situation for example I play in a custom league where we draft LS and Legends. My goal is only to keep and acquire the cards I have on my league roster. I'll sell everything else I don't need. For stub making I like to invest in cards that can possibly upgrade to a higher tier.

I play Events mostly, I don't play RS a ton anymore and BR even less.

DD isn’t pay to play — even time consuming wise you can win in certain areas and sell big cards to finish collections.

There are countless ppl with “no money spent” videos you can watch. You can get every single card without spending a single dollar outside of the cost of the game. So I don’t understand why you would tell people that.

Even the absolute best cards in the game can be obtained through going 12-0 in BR

I certainly agree that DD is probably the best for NMS players compared to all other UT games out there but let's not act like going 12-0 in BR is common or anything lol

It's designed for the Elite. They created the mode b/c they complained about playing full 9 inning games. Now in a sense they control the market. These guys are also the same guys that get to WS which those rewards i am ok with But it is essentially Double Dipping Rewards b/c these same people that complained about 9 inning games are doing both. But BR Rewards selling for 1 million and they only played 36 innings tops pffff GTFOH! That's one of the main reasons i dont play ranked.

These guys go 12-0 in 3 inning games most of thier opponent quit after 1rst HR. That's 36 innings probablly less. But avg joe playing RS has to play 9 9inning games if they do it undefeated to get to pennant race diamond for a 5 k - 10kcard That's 81 INNINGS! One of the main reasons why i don't play ranked. And why i don't buy those cards.

BR Rewards need revamped big time it makes me sick logging in and seeing that mode knowing somebody didn't grind as hard as me and just made a million stubs!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone complain about having to play 9 innings lol

Also BR rewards need to be revamped because you can’t achieve them so because others can and didn’t “grind as hard as you (by playing as many innings)” they shouldn’t be rewarded?
