Additionally good players asking for input to matter more is only so they can dominate more. Not for the good of the game. It’s the same people who complain when the lose to someone they have decided is not as good as they are. They get on here and complain that RNG beat them. You will see these guys complain all year long whenever they lose to someone ranked lower than they are. These guys do t care about how realistic the game is. As you an see they even try to convince you that realism isn’t possible lol.
This is exactly what I see since I have started posting here. They don't like anything added to the game that may cause them to lose a game, just see the reaction to created stadiums being allowed in DD.
*anything added to the game to cause them to lose a game outside of user control
But that's just it, in life you are going to lose at anything to something that is not in your control. It happens in real sports to, does the better team win 100% of the time, on top of that there are circumstances that are completely outside of the control of either team that can cause the better team to lose.
The issue is that rather than taking the loss and moving on, people seem to feel the need to complain about it, endlessly. They also conveniently forget about all the other times that they get the W when they didn't deserve it.
It's a game, it's for fun, if you want to Win 100% of the time play the CPU. Not saying no one complains after a win, but not often. But most complaining comes after a loss.
21 still has RNG it’s just way more balanced. Mlb the show plays way better when you lean towards user input. 21 was possibly the best game I think I’ve ever played personally.
Especially with the way pitching was. I don’t think they can mess this one up tbh
I don’t want Ws when I don’t deserve it and Losses when I don’t deserve them. I want wins when I deserve them and losses when I deserve them.
It’s not a legit complaint? God forbid the inputs a person makes in a video game impact the outcome? Crazy concept.
The guy that swings at every pitch early and if it’s off speed they stop mid swing and either draw a walk or hit a homerun has got to go.... that guy is a literal cancer in mlb 20

We will see how the game plays online. I just know that making good players better, and making mediocre players worse is not a winning direction for SDS to go when the majority of players fall into the "middle of the road" category. You will lose DD players fast if people cannot win once in a while. A declining player base is not something anyone should want. Hopefully franchise sees improvements, I guess. People have to have fun to keep them playing. I can see the majority of DD players moving to offline if they can never win online.

Someone brought up having two different ranked seasons. One for the arcade crowd and one for the realistic crowd.

There is that already, one is casual and one is ranked. The casual one you can do whatever you want, prestige cards and whatever but no one plays that very much because it's not competitive and there is no rewards to playing it.
-
No there isn’t. I’m talking about 2 different online ranked seasons. One for you folks that like arcade style of play, and one for folks that like realistic style of play.

It’s only realistic if it makes you better.

It’s this kind of complaining that ruined this years game. Most of us don’t want an algorithm and rng to determine outcomes from good input. If we have good input it should be rewarded and if that leads to higher scoring games then so be it. I don’t want some code to decide that my nearly perfect input on a hanging change up to Griffey only gets a 93mph exit velocity

I pretty sure Griffey’s data on hanging change ups shows a high batting average and power. I know I’m going out on a limb here.

Yea we know...that’s the point. When you randomize things based on algorithms and stats anything can happen — why bother even using a controller at that point?
-
Why bother having skill based playing cards at this point?
-
Let’s just make the game 100% joystick twitches and presses and SDS can save money paying for the rights of all these different players. We can use generic players with the same skill ratings as each other and then we will be at full arcade where you guys want the game to be.

I want Trout to have a better CHANCE at getting a hit than a poor player card at all difficulty levels. And no, changing the PCI size in Legend difficulty by one pixel isn’t going to accomplish that.

I completely agree. They need to make their mind up on what type of game they are trying to make and stop misleading both parties. Either your making a realistic game or an arcade game.

Attributes definitely matter. If you have a team full of diamonds and pitchingrebel has a team full of silvers he is going to beat you with a team full of silvers but if pitchingrebel is playing pinky with a team full of silvers and pinky’s team is a team full of diamonds — pinky is most def going to win.
attributes should separate you from people of your skill level not separate you from people ABOVE your skill level.
and that is the difference that you guys aren’t getting.
You want cards to put you against guys who are masters at this game — that’s never and should never happen. You have to have the stick skill for that.

Never said that. I said I want my team to play realistically, I don't expect to beat players better than me, but I expect my players to play realistically when I am against my own skill level. The reason I do not play OOTP baseball is because I like the joystick part of this game, I just dont want the game to make the cards skills not matter as much as my joystick skills. I want a balance. I feel the balance fading away. I see the best players getting better and mediocre players getting worse. Is that what you want?

Yes, why should the best players not get better?
-
The onus is on you as a player to get better not others be brought down to your level.
