I have a question and what do you guys think? Do you think today’s fielding feature premier was actually next gen graphics? Is this actually what we are going to see from MLB the show this year for next gen?

Up til now they have been saying its the PS4 version running on a PS5, I don't think we'll see the PS5 game til the next gen stream.

I’m probably just over thinking since in today’s stream we only saw on the bottom that said captured on next gen. Last time I saw that it said PS4 versión on next gen. So I’m not to sure to be honest if I’m probably overthinking..

I agree. Since video wasn't live i think recorded gameplay uploaded. Regardless looks good even for ps4 version.

I really think everyone is overestimating what a true PS5 version will look like. Hitting a steady 60 fps was probably prioritized more than upgraded graphics.

I tend to not care how the game looks as I down grade a lot of the fancy nonsense. Performance is way more important to me personally.

And the game seemed to preform great.

The images may have been captured from a ps5 but was it on a 4k screen?
Was the video that the clips were a part of? Can you broadcast on twitch you tube and facebook live at 4k? and if so did they?
most important of all , were you watching on a 4k screen?
I myself. wont be impressed or disappointed until im running the game on my own system.

That is the question to be asked.. And that is true we will have to wait until we are running it on our own set up. But I would really like to see jerseys moving more freely infield dirt being more realistic.. it’s just the little things that really can make a difference...

Those things would be very nice, but i think they've reached the limit of what the system can do.so to have that on the next gen systems would mean no crossplay between the generations, a "fatal" mistake jn light of the supply problem.if they get that fixed this year we might see a greatly expanded game for 22.

This is a good thing. I’d rather prioritize frame rate over next gen graphics but I will say that the ps4 version played on the PS5 looks much better than on my ps4 pro. I’d really love for sds to tighten up the server issues. I have a feeling with all this peer to peer connectivity among different platforms for 21 they should have dedicated servers not peer to peer. I’m curious how frames would be affected if I’m on PS5 and someone’s on a ps4 how they can maintain 60 FPS? Way too technical for me...

The mode was a test mode, where they can randomize outcomes for the same situation "such as one time the ball hitting the wall or the other the player taking the correct route and catching the ball . Usually in that type of build the graphics and shading are at the lowest . The game is going to look beautiful

Yea was curious about this myself if a person is on a ps5 and they play someone on PS4 does this effect the overall frame-rate of the game? If so that kinda sucks. I personally do not know the answer either

Although looking better, I don’t think the game will take our breath away until next year; they won’t have to deal with Covid issues and it will be 100% geared towards ps5; this one will be mostly a port with smoothed textures.

What benefits would dedicated servers bring to a 1v1 game that would justify the additional costs of those servers?

I’m still in the ‘dedicated servers are not the answer’ crowd so always looking for something to change my mind.

It probably has a lot to do with the fact there is nothing next gen about 4K@60hz.

I was lucky enough to snag a PS5 at release and it’s honestly nothing special. It’s really fast loading screens. The games will probably never achieve what the system can handle just like they didn’t with the PS4. GTA was the best game during its cycle and it was a PS3 game. Now we’re at PS5 and it seems it’s the same cycle again and again with consoles.

If this game ever goes PC there will be no reason to even own the PS5 for me, every other game I play is already cross platform and I’m forced to play PC players with extremely inferior equipment while paying a premium. Jokes getting old lol.

No, you'll still get your 4K60 on your PS5. The network is just transmitting basic information (e.g.: Perfect/perfect, 25 degree launch angle, 438 foot distance) and the console on the other side is putting out the best frames/graphics it can with the data.

How confident are you with this? This would most certainly be the most efficient way to do it, but there are signs that the most efficient way hasn’t necessarily been the chosen way. Eg with MLB stadiums apparently affecting lag in online play.

I had been using a PS4 for the past 6 years, and since I upgraded my TV last year to a 4K, I decided to get a PS5. And I think the game looks great. Maybe it’s not as much of an upgrade for PS Pro users, but from the 4 to the 5 is a noticeable improvement. Even my wife, who has years of practice ignoring The Show when I play, stopped and said, “holy ****, that looks amazing.”
