Gameplay Modes and Check Swing Questions
-
Today I watched the premiere but I was confused about a couple of things.
-
While I understand that head to head is competitive mode by default, as it should be, is competitive mode also going to be the default for all other diamond dynasty modes? This one I think is important to know because we mainly earn player cards via Diamond Dinasty so anybody playing in casual or simulation will have an easier path to cards than people playing in competitive. But at the same time, how unfair would it be for somebody who just plays casual or simulation offline to have to play in competitive mode to be able to enjoy conquest, showdown or any offline DD mode. I really would like know the answer to this.

Check swing was another that I didnt fully understand. I understood that they took out discipline from the equation. However, at one point one of the guys (not ramone) mentioned it in relation to competitive mode. Was the check swings solely adjusted for competitive mode or for all modes. In a way I would get why they would adjust it for all modes, but at the same time making it 100% based on user input is literally the definition of competitive mode (Simulation is 50-50). Besides, if you want a simulated experience, in real life Chris Davis will not check his swing with the same discipline as Lamahieu.
Hopefully this can get clarified. Thanks guys!!

Based off of info given anything MP will be competitive setting. As far as offline modes within DD i would guess it will be set to simulation due to the 50-50.
Check swings will based off of difficulty setting. Easier on casual, 50-50 in simulation, and 100%User control in competitive.

I would hope things like moments would be on a competitive setting. It would only make sense ... you are asking someone to get a specific few let’s say extra base hits but you aren’t going to base it off of their input? Seems strange to me.

Really doesn’t matter. Who cares what input anyone uses for offline missions (except maybe an extreme program). So some people might beat an otherwise frustrating moment a few tries faster, who cares.

Now that i think about it more I'm sure they will vary like in past. They said think of it kinda like difficulty setting, so maybe offline DD will be default competitive but still could also be Rookie,Veteran,All- Star, HOF or Legend difficulty?

They said in a previous preview (with coach) that you could use casual in offline DD and you definitely could use it in the tech test.
