I’ve had nothing but positive interactions on this forum and will continue to do so..it’s a known fact that there are people that play strictly offline..it’s a known fact that there’s people that focus online..people do conquest for inning stars...or certain programs. You shouldn’t be so insecure about a video game dude lighten up..quit complaining about being talked down too when you obviously weren’t, then try and talk down to other by trying to flex that you have a famous ball player in the family. Grow up

And why would you automatically call it a mode for the offline "crowd?"
So am i to assume the "online" crowd doesn't play it to gain points for Boss cards? Or the "Online Crowd" never plays it to gain points for the team affinity?
Get the hell outta here with your poor attempt of trying to split community into online or offline groups. Can't stand people like you that try present themselves as a superior to others. Why because you play MP? The game is Baseball the love of the game is why we all buy it.
And you even described it as "monotonous" so maybe all the more reason to maybe spruce it up.

Ans to add, I’d like to see more conquests for all stages of affinity. As well as programs. There should be one conquest map per week or bi weekly for something..there is no point of playing a conquest map twice. If you’re looking for the 15 inning daily mission. Load up your team play vs cpu as the home team and play an inning and a half and be done with it...when the new game drops and the content is coming wide open, repeating conquests isn’t an option

Forgive me but i had this convo last year with people and they made comments toward people who played offline calling them "Lesser skilled players essentially" so when you referred to "offline players" my first thought was ah hell here we go again with the elitist mentality group. And btw i'm very secure.
As far as "flexing" a comment was made by one of those same people i referred to earlier try to get me riled up about Arenado trade b/c i had Rockies logo prior to logos changing so it was blatantly obvious he was attempting to get under my skin, and at that point i merely said i had a soft spot for the team arenado went to b/c i had a family member in the HOF that played for same team. So intention was not so much trying to flex just pointing out fact that it did not bother me he got traded to that team.

As far as loading up team with players and playing inning and a half well my brain doesn't work that way i don't do things half assed. If i load to play 9 inning i'm playing fulll 9 innings. Hope this clears things up for you.

I really miss Solo Battlees in DD. Because except of Conquest, there is nothing where you can use your team offline.
When you complete Conquest once, there is no point in playing it for second time. In Solo Battles you could get rewards weekly based on your skill and difficulty on what you played those gamesYou can use DD Cards to play CPU Offline 9 inning games.
Playing conquest is more than just the hidden rewards 1 time only.
Some like it b/c it is only 3 inning games. You can also use conquest as a tool for daily missions. 15 inning with dodgers players for instance._ put players from dodgers play 1 game and you have daily reward.
Or you can stack you team with specific player to work towards team affinity. The whole time earning xp and program points as well.
It is a strategy mode like Risk, which is one of the reasons why i would like to see dif starting points on US map.
Yes, of course, you can play vs cpu games, you can gain progress in TA, but what is the reward for this vs cpu game? It's 15 stubs, some xp and 1 card (bronze mainly). These rewards are ridiculous. In Solo Battles you can do everything you suggested, but you would be rewarded much better after one week of playing.
And how many Conquest maps we get in one inning? It's usually one, sometimes two and after that there is nothing. Maybe if SDS would do TA Conquests repeateble, there would be some point doing them twice.
All I'm asking is more offline content, where you can use your team and it would have some meaning. I like playing online, but I'm not in the right mood to play online every day

I think we are on the same page. As far as offline rewards go vs 9 inning CPU. But you have to admit the hidden rewards in each of programs conquest were fire even if it was only 1 or 2 maps.
I guess what i'm trying to determine in regards to solo battles is what you guys are presenting is essentially what M2O already does as far as TA goes.
So maybe we should be asking for M2O format and use DD lineups? Obviously not franchise M2O but M2O TA format. I dunno just spiff balling trying to meet in the middle so every1 is pleased and makes it fun for every1

Hoping 21 has more single

I agree it needs updating. But if it is indeed monotonous, which I agree it is, the answer isn’t longer games against the cpu. I feel on idea may even be shorter games in the sense of team moments. Like bottom 8 down 4. Make a comeback and win. Maybe that’s too much like moments to add into conquest. But just feel the answer to a monotonous game mode isn’t to make it longer. But keep it short and sweet. With just new fun additions

Yes, we are on the same page. And yes, hidden rewards in Conquest maps are great, I have no complaints about that. Conquest is fun mode, I like it.
But we need more offline content with our DD teams, SDS are pretty stale in this area, they have a lot of work to make it better

Sounds something like conquest+M2O or something along those lines. I'd be cool with something along those lines.

Online crowd drags through it unwillingly to obtain things they wish they could achieve online. I hate conquest. Moments are cool though.

Well same could be said about cards that are exclusively to how high u get in RS or BR or even Prestige?
I don't play MP not b/c i'm not good enough but b/c i don't want to deal with headaches that come with MP.
So b/c i don't play MP i was trying to come up with a way to spruce up what offline modes we already have where DD cards can be used and perhaps not be boring for some but more less a mode mixture or spruce-up that would bring immersion back into it.
But with that being said i think we can expect a move forward for all of us. They always seem to find a way to bring things in that are fun. So i am staying optimistic SDS has done more good than harm imo.

@grizzbear55_psn said in Obviously not this year:
Yeah i agree i was referring to 6 inning only @ strongholds.
Most people only play strongholds. As a big conquest person myself I am not sure that I would ever get through a full map at 6 innings per game. What I enjoy about conquest is the ability to sit down for an hour or hour and a half and knock out multiple games.
There are other ways that they could extend the offline gameplay by creating new modes. Maybe a shortened season mode or an offline version of events.
I very much like that they have multiple conquest maps with their own rewards. As far as the main conquest map I simply wish that they would refresh it as often as they refresh events or ranked seasons. Now, the incentives to invest the time simply to earn a pack bundle on your 2nd play through and beyond is simply not enticement enough. That is especially true if they switched to 6 inning games.
-
I play almost exclusively online other than Conquest. I can't stand moments (i wish they would get rid of them but I know they won't) and I am also not a huge fan of showdown.
I like your idea of being able to start at different points on the main map. That would allow some change up. I definitely do not want 6 inning games (even just for the strongholds). I do wish their were some options for changing up the stadium as opposed to just playing in the home team parks. I think they do a good job though with the different maps and hiding the packs and rewards in there. I think for people who don't play conquest because of the "grind" can at least admit the awards are usually pretty worthwhile.

The only thing that I have long wished for is that the stadiums were tied to the spots that they occupy and not the team that holds them. That way, by the time I beat conquest I will have played in all 30 MLB stadiums. Instead of playing in the Rogers Center 5 times, and Yankee stadium multiple times because one of those teams dominated the east coast.

I get it! But at the same time what is benefit of the new stamina of pitcher's for folks that play vs CPU? Part of my reasoning behind the 6 inning strongholds suggestion, but i was also lumping that in with other suggestions in OP they kinda went hand in hand.
That was a new feature introduced in 20 but it seems to not react the same vs CPU as it does in MP. CPU had what seemed like unlimited stamina when it came to conquest. I hardly ever saw a pitcher get the hook unless i scored like 5 runs in an inning?
I would be cool with refreshment of map b/c i 100% agree with 2nd playthrough and beyond point.
-
I like the idea of a USA map refresh much like events or BR. With new rewards..I agree there needs to be more ways to incorporate your DD team into offline play and to have an incentive for something. Right now conquest and playing a specific team on all star for player programs isn’t enough...I hate showdown, just because of the sheer anger it can create, but I’d rather that than M2O for affinity l
