What version do I want? I like Ultimate Team on Madden, but is the content for the extra $30 or $15 worth it?

Unlike other ultimate team type modes you don't need to spend any money to get a really good team in diamond dynasty. To me it's only worth getting the more expensive versions of the game if you want the hat or just really want a little boost to your team to start off with.SDS does a great job of bringing out lots and lots of content and really good free players just for doing some grinding.

The bonus perks, ranked in order of usefulness:

    1. Cross-Generation. For someone looking to upgrade to 5/X in the coming year, this is mandatory.
    2. Early access. Unless you've already got big plans for that weekend, the extra 4 days are like Christmas morning.
    3. Double Dailys. You'll curse their existence right up until you get something useful in September from them.
    4. Extra Diamond Choice packs. Great for the first few weeks but once we get into the dog days, you'll have a whole mess of these.
    5. Extra Gold Choice Packs. Ditto.
    6. Hat (Deluxe edition only): They 19 hat was the best.
    7. Extra Stubs/Packs. Nothing you couldn't earn after a couple hours flipping, but a bit of a head start doesn't hurt.
    8. Bat Skin. You'll use this once ... maybe?
    9. Ballplayer Equipment Pack. If you're playing Diamond Dynasty (the Ultimate Team equivalent), these are less than worthless.

For xbox the options are limited. Either standard or the $99 edition right? No in between?

Like the other poster said, for DD, you dont need to spend real money to build a great team. I have not spent one dime in DD the last 4 years and have had really good players.

I think one thing I'll miss is the double dailies.

I’m trying to decide too. The bonuses they give you in-game are largely worthless by the second month of the game’s lifecycle. But I have missed not getting a physical hat with my previous years of The Show.

I bought the digital JR edition. Not because I needed/wanted the extras, I just wanted to play 4 days early. That was worth the extra $15 to me.

I am in the boat of ready to pull the trigger on a series S/X in the next 6 months, and judging by the tech test, I will want to play this Day 1 (or -4 for the early birds), and so the cross-gen purchase is a no brainer for me, financially.

i was going to get ps5 this gen just because of the show but now im thinking getting the XbSX because it has this game now plus it will have flight sim which is th eonly other game i'm looking forward to.

but ill get next gen maybe end of this year or next year. not many games seem to be coming out due to the pandemic.
