50 pack luck?
-
Luck of the draw it seems. Had 75k so I bought 50 pack figuring prices would see a modest increase with the full release.
Ballin pack was up first and was just a gold. Little did I know, I was about to have the most insane pack luck I've ever had.
Very 1st pack: Yelich
3rd pack: Bagwell
Around 25th pack: Hader
Around 40th pack: StrasburgSold the 3 live series for a 90k+. Could have finished off the Brewers but NL Central rewards were buns.
I figured I used up all my pack luck for the year last night. Better quit while I'm ahead

I got 1 diamond out of 4 headliners. I got CP Yates. I got two golds one was Stanton can not remember the other

KevinGohD posted a video the other day and he pulled Trout, Yelich, Acuna, and Betts. I think most of those came from his 50 pack bundle. I’ve never really been much of a pack guy and typically only open the free ones, but that seemed pretty lucky to me.
Of course he did, he is a streamer. That is a business decision by SDS. Idiots see streamers get Trout and other diamonds and think they will pull them which almost never happens. IT IS A MARKETING STRATEGY!
Who was the person that questioned me saying all the streamers I saw pull Trout last year? I didn't watch any this year but pretty sure Koogs, Healy and Quash probably all have Trout already.

I haven't yet but I always chalk it up to personal preference:
-If you play to have fun and don't care about being cost efficient and putting the best team possible (or buying favorite players) then go for it. Ripping packs are fun, but can also be disappointing.
-if you're trying to build a better team, collect certain players, or play market...then no.
From a cost perspective. If you don't pull Trout, Bellinger or Arenado, you'll lose out. OTherwise you'd need like 2-4 diamonds (Depending on who they are) to break even

I've opened probably close to 500 packs, all from 50 pack bundles. Zero money spent, all from flipping til I get to 75k in stubs.
I've pulled the following
Mike Trout - kept
Freddie freeman - kept
Ketel marte x3 - kept 1 sold 2
Nolan Arenado x2 - kept 1 sold 1
Trevor Story - kept
Aroldis Chapman - kept
Josh Hader - kept
Charlie Morton x 4 - sold all 4
Clayton Kershaw x 3 - sold all 3
Jose Altuve - sold
Alex Bregman - sold
Mookie Betts x2 - kept 1 sold 1
Cody Bellinger - sold
Jeff Bagwell - sold
Bryce harper - sold
George Springer x2 - sold bothSo I'd say that they arent that dead.
-
First 50 pack and I got 8-10 golds and no diamonds
2nd I got bagwell, sale and lindor. Got betts from an Atlanta Braves affinity pack ( the level 40 packs)
They are a total hit or miss, I do it bc it’s fun and o want collections
-
I think 10 packs were really hot for a time as I bought about 8 of them and got 5 diamonds.
-
Packs are not worth the cost now that you cannot quick sell or exchange cards after collecting them. I will not be doing collections this season (except for the Cubs). I will not be buying any more packs this time around. I hate Showdown, 1st Inning moments are not directly counting toward program stars, and I do not really like moments in the first place and everything is centered around them. I am really close to not playing DD at all this season.
-
It’s a total crapshoot. I got nothing but 1 gold from 20 packs. Then a little later I got two straight diamonds, Aroldis chapman and Kirby Yates, from reward packs earned through conquest.

Wish I had some of your luck. I've ripped 1/5 of the number of packs you have and pulled zero diamonds

If there's any time to rip open packs it's now. I just ripped open a 50 pack bundle and got Bagwell and 4 golds (worth around ~20000 stubs total). But silvers go for 500+ and most bronzes (and even some commons) go for 200+, so I got about 50000 stubs back. Give it 2 or 3 weeks and such a return is unthinkable if you don't pull at least 2 diamonds (...or Trout).
I agree with this. The past couple years it seems the only time it's a decent value/risk to rip 50-packs is the first week or so of the game. Every day that goes by it's a worse deal. Just make sure you go to your inventory right after and get sell orders on everything you don't want.
-
Exactly. Today I bought another bundle and sold 5 golds for about 15000, all silvers for about 5000, some bronzes and commons that go for a lot (at about 6000), A diamond equipment item for 18000 and matt chapman for the same price. All in all I made about 60000 stubbs back... and kept Kenley Jansen and Mookie betts. So that's pretty good. With the rapidly decreasing prices, the overall value of this combination will not exceed 60000 within a week

There's a lot of people that will say certain Youtuber's packs are juiced. I'm not saying that's true or not, but those videos sure do encourage people to open their wallets.
It doesn’t help that Kyle and koogs drop hundreds of $$ on stubs so they start off with a stacked team by completing the collection the first week the game is out.
