My MLB 21 Wishlist (Devs are Encouraged to Read)
-
Without further ado, here is my wishlist for MLB 21.
- Tiger Stadium. TIGER. STADIUM.
- More Tigers flashbacks! Lou Whittaker, Cecil Fielder, MAGGLIO ORDONEZ, etc.
- Brandon Inge. Some folks hated him later in his career, but you can't deny his glove was always there and always great.
- More attention to minor league stadiums (i.e., more stadiums for minors, and have the teams play at those stadiums. For example, have the Charlotte Knights actually play at BB&T Park. With a rendered skyline.)
- Do NOT break the fielding in post launch patches this time.
- Make it so that I don't feel like the game is rigged.
- Pete Rose please?
- Collectible manager cards. Have them added as a squad position, where they can provide perks and bonuses to the team based on their real-life coaching skills. No more generic-looking managers. Give them the ability to challenge close plays and stuff like that.
- Building on last bullet, I want managers from past and present. i.e., Sparky Anderson and Brian Snitker, respectively.
- Conquest fun, in general.
- Find a way to make online event cards accessible to offline players. I'm willing to grind stats to earn them, or something.
- Have fans wear my DD team's colors.
- Customizable stadium sounds. I want J Jonah Jameson's laugh to play after a fielding error.
- Make Moments less frustrating.
- Make BBs and HBPs count towards total bases goals in Moments, or have them reset the at-bat. Tired of those robbing me.
- Allow me to reset a Moment at any time, and don't make me wait until after the play is over.
- Movie-inspired cards. i.e., Billy Chapel (P, #14, Detroit), Rick Vaughn (CP, #99, Cleveland), Roy Hobbs (OF, #9), etc.
- Fix the glitch where a foul ball magically flies into the fielder's glove. The ball trail does not lie.
- Allow us to use our DD team in practice mode. That way we can get a feel for new players we add to our lineups and figure out what's best without a game being on the line.
I may add more as I think of them.
-
What about Mickey Tettleton? He played for your Tigers and was a stud (albeit more than likely HGH infused) switch-hitting catcher which we need more of in DD, lol.
-
Cecil. Prince.
-
Darrell Evans
-
Rose - I'd imagine that's an MLB edict. Not much SDS can do. (Or should. That guy can get in 70 years after Shoeless Joe does.)
Sounds/Movie Cards - Rights issues. Hobbs shouldn't be a problem but any Paramount/Fox/Warner character would be. -
On the subject of fielding, does anyone else encounter problems with the fence ribbon where the ball is supposed to go after hitting the wall? You can line your guy right up on the line and it doesn’t go anywhere near him, or you can sit on the spot it’s “supposed” to land on the bounce and it goes over your head.
-
I'd add onto the point about event cards being achievable offline to
I think the same should be true for offline cards (Such as Pearson and Lou Gehrig this year), make it somehow also available online. Maybe by getting x number of wins in ranked or something

Dedicated servers
Continued improvements to online playPete Rose nowhere near the game

Tiger LEGEND Prince Fielder
-
I'll take the post patch broken fielding over the pre patch broken fielding.
-
Solo Battles
-
I’m a big proponent of exclusives. I think some things should only be offline and some things should only be online - and I also like when some things are not sellable. It makes for more interesting teams.
Although I will say this years game content wise was very good. The game play just sucked.

Hate to break it to you but Prince Fielder was a Milwaukee Brewer legend. He only spent 2 years on the Tigers.

“Tigers Legend” is kind of an oxymoron.

In FIFA, there is a mode where you get to play against a computer-controlled team. You play against someone's ultimate team but controlled by the computer. It gives you weekly rewards. I think this would be a great way to involve more offline players while giving them good rewards. Maybe this is how you get headliners next year.

Well the guy wanted “more tiger flashbacks” and some of his best years were on the tigers. Sooooooo what’s the problem

Best years? I disagree. He had a good year in 12 but over all his power numbers plummeted which was what he was sold on.

Yes, these are Solo Battles. You can play usually 4 games per day, you can choose on what difficulty you want to play them and each option gives you points. Harder difficulty means more points added to your rank after one week. Every rank (bronze, silver, gold, elite, top 200) has some coins and packs as a reward.
I'm really missing this offline mode in DD. It could be great way to get some rewards and also for objectives like dailies or team affinities and what is most important, you use your team. Because now in DD offline options, you can play conquest and play vs cpu and that's all you can do with your team
