The Brewers have signed Kolten Wong.
Wong’s deal is a two-year, $18MM contract that contains a club option for a third season, Rosenthal tweets. If the option is picked up, Wong would earn $26MM over the three-year term.

YOUR MLB News so far today and yesterday:

The Phillies and Cardinals are among the clubs who are still active in the free-agent market for starting pitchers, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com tweets. Among the starters being considering are James Paxton, Jake Odorizzi and Taijuan Walker.

MLBPA representatives spoke with White House officials Thursday morning about the current context of the COVID-19 pandemic amid ongoing discussions about the health and safety protocols for the start of spring training and the regular season.

Closer Alex Colome has agreed to a deal to join the Minnesota Twins, a source tells ESPN's Jeff Passan.

The Cubs have agreed to a handful of minor league pacts, Baseball America’s Chris Hilburn-Trenkle reports in his latest minor transactions roundup. Left-hander Rex Brothers, right-hander Joe Biagini, outfielder Nick Martini
and corner infielder Patrick Wisdom have all joined the organization. Presumably, they’ll all be in big league camp.

Backstop Josh Phegley announced yesterday that he is hanging up his spikes. He appeared in each of the prior eight MLB campaigns.

The Rays, Brewers, and Mets are each in pursuit of Rich Hill.

It seems Jackie Bradley and agent Scott Boras are hoping to leverage strong demand into a much longer deal than might have been anticipated. Bradley is “seeking a significant contract, perhaps beyond four years,” sources tell Mike Puma.

The Orioles are signing right-hander Felix Hernandez to a minor league contract, Jon Heyman of MLB Network tweets. Hernandez will earn a $1MM salary if he gets to the majors.

Agent Rachel Luba suggested on Twitter that Bauer is down to two teams, though she didn’t name the clubs.
It sounds like it is the Mets and Dodgers.

9 million a year for 2 years or just under that for 3 years.

While I would have liked him to stay on the Cardinals it seems like the 12.5 million club option would have been paying him a premium.

In the long run if the team declining that option allows the club to resign Waino and Yadi then that was a worthy tradeoff.

Mets' offer is 3 years, believed to be close to $100M. Ed Coleman of WFAN660 reported 3 years, about $90M. Offer is even a bit higher. Opt-out likely after 1, as Ed said. (Jon Heyman)

Cardinals have traded Dextor Fowler to the Angels and cash for a player to be named later.

Cardinals seem determined to give all of their young outfielders a chance to play, which is a good thing. Fowler probably waived his no trade for the chance to play with Trout and Rendon and to be reunited with Joe Maddon.

The Rays' Ji-Man Choi was the only one to win his arbitration hearing out of the three verdicts Friday, with the Mets' J.D. Davis and the Orioles' Anthony Santander losing their cases.

Bauer, a California guy, is headed to the Dodgers. He picks LA over the Mets.

Rockies just lost 3 more games. We've now been swept by the Dodgers in 2021.

Trevor Bauer gets $102M for 3 years from Dodgers, per source. He has opt outs after each of the first two years; $40M in 2021, $45M in 2022. He'll be the highest-paid player in MLB history in '21, then again in '22.
