Pre-order

Until they release the info for the other versions; looks like the only benefit to pre-ordering the Standard version is if you have a PS5 you get 10 The Show packs.
Unless something special is offered for the Digital Deluxe version (PS4); I'm not pre-ordering and will wait to see how bad the gameplay is this year.

They'll release more info I'm sure.

A. One of the bigger pre-order features in previous years was a card to use for the remainder of the old game's life cycle (Baez for 19, Harper for 18, etc). Obviously this has absolutely value whatsoever for XBOX users who don't have a current-year game to use it in.
B. The extra swag they give for pre-orders is to entice people to buy early so that SDS (or whoever) can get PAID early. The fact that we're now in February and the game drops in mid-April means that pre-order float of cash isn't going to be as big or as lengthy as it is normally. Hence it's not as necessary to create a preorder frenzy so they can hold your cash for 5 months. Ergo, since the pre-order push isn't going to be as big, there's less of a need to lard the offer up with goodies.

I agree. Unless they offer early play, or stubs/packs/cards, it's not worth it to pre-order; in my opinion.
Not until I see how much of an issue it's going to be server wise.

Is there any current benefit to preordering? Flashback card or anything?

I wonder if they’ll do what they did for Baez and Harper the last two years

Free 99 Tatis for Pre-ordering:

I probably wont pre-order because I hope to get a PS5. No need in having a game for the 4 & 5, unless I was rich.

This is what they said, interpret it as you will:
"Please note: There will be no standard edition upgrade path from current gen to next gen. If you are interested in having access to the game on both current and next gen platforms, please wait for more info about the collector’s edition." -
I will wait for the digital deluxe version and hope they give packs and stubs like previous editions.

100% true. Pre-order push isn't as big, but they're going to want to stick to the April date and get the game live so that they can sell stubs. I'm guessing a lot of pent-up demand early on for folks to get their "A-team" ASAP given the late start.
