How to put an end to "Dashboarding"

Prima Nocta.... You have to breed it out.

The problem with your suggestion is that I am not confident that SDS could differentiate between a dashboard and a genuine disconnect. 8 hour ban for having less than stellar internet isn't fair for anyone

How to put an end to Dashboarding:
STOP with online only stat requirements.
They had the same problem a few years ago with Griffey stats and then the next year they added offline options; but people cried that it was excessive.
You'll NEVER have both parties happy.

And anyone who defends dashboarding is trash.
I don't see anyone defending dashboarding here. There are just better ways than what the OP suggested

Michael is that you?

Why not leave both options in? That way the offline grinders and online players are both happy. Also, make the cards from moments purchase available for those of us who suck at/hate doing single player things. I would have given SDS 50 dollars for Jackie Robinson earlier in the year not to be specific.

8 hr ban for first offense is a hit excessive imo.
I would agree with a 30 min ban, and then add 30 mins every time, so 2bd offense 60 min, 3rd 90 mins, and so on.
They could even display a message like: "We noticed you are having connection difficulties, why not try another time?"
Full disclosure: I am one of those hillbillies with a horrible connection.

My way of stopping dash boarding is simple. I don’t like to play online because of all the stupid thinks coming with it. So if MLB 2021 is not playable offline with a possibility of getting all the content by playing only offline i m not buying.

I didn't even know what it was called until I started searching on here, but it has happened to all of us, and we have all be robbed of legitimate counting stats which are used to measure our skill and ability, and when this happens, stats become inaccurate.
The solution is simple... 8 hour ban first time offense, 24 hour ban for each successive offense. Problem solved permanently. SDS, please implement a solution and put an end to this absurd immature behavior.
Real men know how to win and lose graciously.
Only stone-cold losers quit (while a ball is mid-flight) when their weak ego is bruised in a meaningless video game.
I don't care if people dashboard on me, I will take my win and move on, who cares, it's just a video game
-
I mean, yeah, it’s just a video game, but dashboarding is kind of a drag.
Like I work over a pitcher, load the bases, then hit a grand slam with Trout, but the box score says 1-1 and no Trout stats. Hard to prestige players when the stats keep disappearing.

Ya it's just a video game but there is no reason to dashboard. I have no problem with getting the win but the person I am playing can let the ball land and then quit using the pause screen and then I can get my win and my stats that I need for prestiging. There's really no reason or need to dashboard at the end of the day.

Exactly. I mean it actually takes more time to dashboard and restart.
I suspect mostly it is a resentful f you from the opponent.

Ya and I bet most people who dashboard get right back on the game so you have to be a clown to waste more of your own time just to take stats away from someone for beating you instead of waiting five more seconds to quit and get back into a new game.

How do you know if they dashboard?
I have had several games where it states the user lost connection.
Is that what happens?

It always says that for a dashboard because to the system it looks like a disconnect. If it came during the middle of a home run or a play where you're about to score and you are already killing them then most likely it was a dashboard.

Once everyone switches over to PS5 it occur much less
