What exactly determines the speed at which the ball descends down the meter thing when pitching analog?

Obviously the length/size of the meter is determined by the pitcher’s windup or delivery from the stretch.

It seems to me that the speed varies according to situation even with the same pitcher. Is this related to confidence? Are there “sliders” that modify the speed based on in game events or fatigue?

I’m particularly curious to know if your opponent’s hitter’s clutch attributes (or any other attributes) have an effect on the speed of the meter thingy.

Sometimes it is just so hard to get a good release when trying to close out a game...

I don't think anything really is supposed to affect it, but I would guess the connection has an influence on it, so if you are playing someone with bad connection, it might be all over the place

Hmmm. Yeah that would explain it. There definitely can be a big fluctuation in the speed the ball moves down, between earlier and later innings, and from pitcher to pitcher.
