Why does Chris Sale cost 1,000,000 stubs
-
He frickin sucks. Can’t find the plate, predictable repertoire, easy to hit once you figure his rotation. The only reason he’s worth so much is because of the other cards in his class. If he wasn’t a reward card, he’d be under 60k
-
I think Sale has the second best ERA in my rotation, I have heavily used him
-
Stubs are way too easy to obtain. Crazy how many 1M cards there are

Maybe it’s just me. I struggle pitching with him and I hit well against him.

I went and looked to see if I was somehow misremembering. 138 innings, 2.15 ERA, 0.79 WHIP, 163 strikeouts, that makes him my best pitcher by stats.
Pitching, moreso then hitters, is very case by case basis, I probably struggle with pitchers you love, (idk how you feel about Hersh, but his prestige has a 6.69 ERA for me, so while most love him, I can't use him)

End game inflation at work. Sale cost under 300k at one point

Can’t pitch with Hersh either. Or anyone else it seems anymore. My era sits about 3.75 which is almost a full run from two months ago

I've been pretty feast or famine with pitching lately, two seasons ago I finished with an ERA above 5 which is unheard of for me. This season I am 9-1 with a 1.91 ERA and 0.71 WHIP.
3.92 era lifetime, so overall you def seem better at pitching then me. I can use pretty much anyone who has a slider, and if they don't, I struggle

Sale took a perfect game for me into the 8th today in RS (against a 610 level opponent so All Star). Not too shabby and like another said he has one of my best ERA/WHIP ratios on my team....
-
But I agree you need to quickly determine what your opponent can and can’t do with him as he’s essentially a 3 pitch pitcher and a 2 pitch against righties as a slider from Sale into righties is playing with fire. He has a funkiness to his deliver which makes him extremely deceptive to a lot of players and you can dot with him well. But if your opponent is used to his delivery then I always have a full energy Plan B ready.
-
All about the player. His repertoire may seem limited but all 4 of his pitches are very effective when used correctly. He also gets the most check swing strikes of any SP in the game. He's murder on lefties and very good vs righties if u learn how to sequence his pitches.

What. He has to be by far the best card in my opinion. And he's extremely rare sometimes quantity beats quality.
-
He sucks, he’s only a mill because of how he’s obtained
-
Duplicate post

And just to add against righties, the Change is lethal when sequenced well with the 4-seam. I basically do a 4-seam outside edge, 4-seam inside-edge and Change sequence to righties (not in that order but those 3 pitches) so if you ever see him on the mound from me I guess he'll be getting a quick hook
-
I like Sale and gotten dubs against goons w him, but OP is right, you gotta get him the hell out of there if your opponent figures him out early

My second time with him. Seems like the left handed Hershiser. He’s either the best pitcher in someone’s rotation, or he his awful, and no i between. Very dependent on the user.

Just checked his online stats for me: 78IP, 109K, 2.42 ERA, 0.86 WHIP

Been experimenting with analog pitching. Been pretty successful, giving up 4 runs in 22 innings on all star difficulty so I decided to give chris sale another try In a game at bayfront in hall of fame difficulty (both of us in the low 700s). First three batters, homer, hit by pitch, homer. He’s gone. He is absolute trash when I use him. Sold him and took the 100k loss. He may be good for the vast majority of you, but in my hands, one of the worst pitchers I have ever used.
