That is why they stay competitive without paying the big bucks. Trades like this. Might not help them tomorrow, but a a couple years down the line they will be way ahead in this trade. Might even flip some of those players they got for a better prospect or another really good player. Plus they dont seem like a team trying to win a WS all the time. Getting there last year will probably make them happy for a while. Now they will regress a little and collect some prospects and be a pretty good team a few years later.

Padres have acquired Blake Snell from the Rays for prospects Luis Patiño, Francisco Mejía, Blake Hunt and Cole Wilcox (ESPN).I've just see that Poppin in my mail .... God [censored] they now have a Solid team too bad Clevinger had to go Tommy John but they are now serious contender !
