anybody actually have Lou Gherig? I’m not worried about conquest but I just gave the extreme showdown a try and I don’t think it’s even worth the stress. And the moments are next to impossible. at least the 3 hr with yelich on hof One is. Wish I could just buy gherig ive only seen him in lineup once before I think
-
I have him-my 11 year old helped me and actually finished the extreme program

He's not worth the hassle, nor is he even that good. Free Babe Ruth, Free Joey Votto, and Finest Bellinger (expensive, but only because everyone can't spend their stubs) are superior cards.

I actually think Lou Gehrig is the best 1B in the game only behind Jimmie Foxx who most people will play behind the plate. Babe Ruth doesn't generate exit velocities consistently this year, Joey Votto is not great against lefties and slow as a snail and Bellinger is also not as good as he was last year. I have them all and tried them all and I can confidently say that Gehrig is the top performer out of all of them in my opinion.

It took me a couple weeks to do the extreme conquest. I finally finished the showdown yesterday - I would try from time to time and never really stressed about it much. Perhaps tried it 20 times over the months since it's release.
I'm not even going to try for the moments. Gehrig is good, but there are other 1b options that I already have and play well with.

Admittedly I don't have Gehrig this year. I'm basing my opinion of him off of last years card which on paper is very similar.
Conversely, I think this years version of Bellinger is better than he was last year, so as with most things in this game it seems it's all just personal preference.

Joey Votto?
That Votto card is pretty glitchy. He crushes righties with a smooth swing, and sure he has underwhelming numbers vs. left handed pitchers, but he performs above them on those rare occasions you face one.
-
I have him. Love the card. So much so that I start him over Bellinger, who is probably a bit better at 1st. He feels very similar to the Ted Williams card. Only problem is they made the extreme cards crazy to prestige. Took me forever on Pearson and Gehrig is the one card that might not get done.
-
I also love Lou Gehrig. He's the only card from Extreme still on my squad. Highly recommend
-
Ruth and Foxx are just as good depending on right lefty
-
I use babe and haven't had an issue that wasn't my own fault
-
I have Babe, Belli, and Gehrig-had similar numbers with Babe vs Lou...Belli in my opinion seems better than either-just like his quicker swing and seems to hit with more exit velo./power....Have Babe as bench bat and Gehrig is odd man out-Babe gets nod bc of OF/1B flexibility though I like Gehrig offensively a tad more but the two very similar....
-
Lou is gonna play first base every game the rest of the year for me. Highest average on my team and everything is an XBH. In almost 200 at bats the guy is still hitting over .460

I have belli but him in outfield and gherig at first would be tits
-
I'm not good enough to get him this year, but last year's Gehrig was my go-to 1B.

I can't speak for this year since I haven't started the Extreme program, but last year Gehrig was one of my favorite cards. He always came through when I needed some offense.
Bellinger not as good as last year though? That's absurd. I was hitting over .400 with him for a while (I think around .380 now) and I'm averaging a home run every 4 at-bats. He is still one of the best cards in the game.

Glad you're having succes with him, I can't justify playing him over Gehrig. And the outfield is occupied as well.
