I’m just saying some people bunt and some play at Shippett. They are just two extreme styles of gameplay. Home run derby and small ball. You can’t use one and then say the other is invalid.

And yes, you could smack any player at any stadium no argument there. You are probably one of the best hitters in the game. A lot of us aren’t as good a hitter so we have to bunt occasionally to get on or make something happen. However, I’m not bunting with Killebrew and I’m not bunting at Shippett. The risk/reward just isn’t there. The way the ball travels Nobody should be bunting at that park.

In Matt’s defense, a 55% win percentage in baseball is pretty good. Not everyone is a top 100/35/a billion player.

I don’t think players that lobby for pitching input to matter are a problem. I don’t think complaining about Shippett makes someone a bad player.

We’ve all lost games to inferior players there.

Not all of us want 15-12 slugfests with 17 solo home runs in our games.

Some of us are looking for some subtlety.

Lots of players try to emulate top players by choosing Shippett, and I would argue that those players are NOT getting better.

I would also suggest that it is very difficult to actually get better this year, because the gameplay is super inconsistent. Hopefully it will improve in future versions so arguments like this one will go away. I like to think a balanced game would support many strategies, and not create cults of “exploiters” or home hunters or “cheesers”.
