I hate to come on butthurt after a loss, so my apologies there.
It was just hard to take, especially after Dude reached third on a botched throw to first for a two base error.

No I meant imagine squeeze bunting with a power hitter in December. That was directed at ur opponent not the OP lol.

In RS it's pathetic. But in BR anything goes! And in events I'd probably do it if I was grinding it and thought it had a good chance of working. Time saved is a precious commodity sometimes!
I also have no issue with people doin it to me for the same reasons. However, the people that take the extra lead every pitch, the people that call time at the plate in EVERY 2 strike count (Yes, I experienced this very recently!), the practice swingers of years gone by, the bunt dancers, the habitual HR replayers, the ones that try to make u think a can of corn is a HR by sprinting towards the wall, and finally, the people who take the near maximum time between every pitch in a FUTILE attempt to fool the batter into thinking a PHAT one is coming right down the pipe via auto-pitch, did I cover everyone? Well........
They can all choke on a BBC!
Love,
Bill
Happy Holidays everyone.

Context matters. OP hasn’t stated what was game score, number of outs, innings and so on. Small ball was the main way to play baseball before the power explosion

You forgot the people that do not hit X in between batters and plays but instead watch the entire batter walk up animation.... press the button people!!
-
Sounds like strategy to me. If he can make that happen, well played.
-
I had a guy bunt...with two strikes...with 99 Mickey Mantle...in the top of first...first batter of game.

To be fair you came on here only half butthurt. If you were full butthurt then we'd have a problem.

It was 1-0, 2nd inning BR game. Two out.
Obviously his strategy paid off because he rattled my pitcher by scoring the run and then added on to take the lead and ultimately, win.
Half-butthurt. Good one!

Legit bunt imo. Suicide squeeze from an unlikely source is pretty much how you do it. You see it here and there in the big leagues. Use to be more prevalent in the past.

Lol NO!!
BBC is the British Broadcasting network. largest TV network in the World and oldest.
I know that isnt what he means, but honestly that is all I think of when I see BBC.
-
Ah yes, Harmon killebrew, a notable small ball player.
Lol it’s December “let me press triangle and have the game score me a run” -
December has nothing to do with it. By your logic, game shouldn’t even be accessible since baseball season is over.
Smh, critical thinking is your friend

It’s the fact that the cheesers are still alive and well this late in the cycle. Bunting here and there is fine but in a situation like that, you’re telling your opponent that you don’t trust yourself enough to hit a runner in so you’re going to rely on the broken bunting in the game to do it for you

“Broken bunting “ is only referred to high bunt rating players. The guy had a good chance that it was going to be a bad bunt. He gambled and it paid off. Real baseball does it all the time . Either way, you are hopeless. Can’t enlighten a person incapable of growth.

I have no problem with bunting if the situation calls for it.
To me, down a run with two outs in the second inning of a BR game, squeezing with Killebrew to me, smacks of desperation. Keep in mind the guy only got to third base on account of my fielder throwing a ball into the stands which would have been the third out.
If the guy doesn’t think he can get a hit or score a run to tie in the third, sure, why not try a surprise bunt. I don’t think he is going to get better at the game that way, but whatever.
I just lost another BR game to a similar player who bunted to get on with Vizquel, stole second and third, then squeezed him in. I think he squeezed another run in the next inning.
Could I defend against this? Sure. I’m just playing a BR game to warm up though. I hardly care about winning and the guy obviously was not a good hitter.
I had the joy of throwing out two of his runners on a double steal though, which did make me smile, but then my time ran out as I went to get my takeout at the door.
To each their own. If you want to cheese, go ahead, but you’re not getting any better at hitting or playing the game like an actual baseball game.
-
BR is 3 inning games. Basically 7 thru 9th innings. So he did it with 2 outs and with a unlikely hitter that caught you off guards. Stings? Yes but totally a baseball play, no matter how upset you are. The other situation? Yeah that’s just using the game mechanics to it’s fullest/weakest depending on how you look at it. I wouldn’t consider the second one playing like actual baseball game situation.
