White Sox manager Tony La Russa pleaded guilty to a charge of misdemeanor reckless driving dating back to earlier this year. La Russa was also sentenced with 1 Day of home detention, a $1,383 fine, and 20 hours of community service. (Chicago Sun-Times)

The Giants have signed Righty Reliever John Brebia to a one-year, $800K deal. He had Tommy John surgery in June and will likely miss the beginning of next season, assuming it will start on time.

The Pirates have traded All-Star First Baseman Josh Bell to the Nationals for right-handed pitchers Wil Crowe and Eddy Yean. Crowe is the #3 prospect for the Nationals (now Pirates) and Yean is the #6.
