The show market vs the stock market is the equivalent of pre-K arithmetic vs advanced calculus.

I'm not trying to compare the show market to the stock market.

I'm trying to see if people who have a million stubs here have any money at all in the real stock market. I have a feeling they probably don't.

You would be wrong. Lots of older players.

Ha can we create a 40+ LG! Getting tired of these whipper snappers destroming me. Maybe in this LG I'll finally get to WS.

why not. I'm curious. I wonder if people that spend hours in a fake market spend any time at all in a real market that makes real money. It would behoove them to do so.

Risk of loss of real dollars in The Show Market: 0%.
Risk of loss of real dollars in NYSE/NASDAQ/etc: substantially more.

That's like comparing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to Lloyd Cushenberry III of the Broncos because they both play at the Center position.

Again, I'm not trying to compare the show market vs. stock market.
The stock markets rate of return for the last 100 years has been 8-10%. I will take that risk any day. If you take no risk you're going to be eating beans and rice during retirement.

If you're "not trying to compare the show market vs. the stock market", then stop trying to compare investing in the show market vs. investing in the stock market.

And multi-millionaires. Do you even have a dollar invested in the stock market?

I'm sure it's great to have a million stubs but all you can buy with that is virtual baseball cards. A million in the stock market and you're set for retirement.

    Yes I do.

my simple question got a simple answer. thank you.

My wife and I make enough between us. I won't ever get my Ferrari, but we're happy, and that's what matters to us. One of my philosophies in life is you can always make another buck, but you can't buy one more second of time. So I'd rather make less and have more free time, than try to break the bank. To each their own though.

That's all fine and dandy. Life's not all about money, I agree. And I'm not all about getting rich. It's about making your money work and having a secure retirement. There is this phenomenon called inflation. You might have enough now but how about when your 75?
Investing in the stock market really doesn't require much time. But you do you.

Preorder was the last time I sunk money into the game. Have 5 max price cards, 2 more max buy orders in. 2.5 in the bank.

Everything was bought because I will never make world series or go 12-0, and I didn't flip a single card all year.

Yep, we have a a very diverse portfolio and have planned extensively for our kids education as well as retirement.

I still find this thread one of the more douche baggy I have seen on here.

Man, I wish making money in the real stock market was as easy and simple as making stubs in this game. If it was, the world would have no poor people and everyone would be zillionaires. I guess in that case the dollar itself would have a lot less value putting everyone back to the financial level they're at right now.

If you don't have an employer 401k, set up an IRA. make monthly automatic withdrawals from bank account. Put your money in mutual funds and etf's. The money is managed for you. How hard is that? I made 10k this year. When the market was down in March I threw money into stock funds. I don't recommend timing things like that but just saying it's not rocket science.

That's good advice and doesn't seem very difficult at all. I think a lot of people just don't understand, or take the time to understand how easy something like that is I suppose. That, and obviously you need to have at least a little disposable income that you can put into mutual funds and etf's.

That being said as easy as that sounds, it's nowhere near as easy as making stubs in this game. 10k in a year in real life is great! In this game though 10k is one 60 second flip often times.
