The kind of wins that almost feel like a loss
-
I just started the new ranked season, my monthly climb from AS to PR. Maybe I’ll take Bret Boone for my Mariners theme team this time.
So I match with a guy who is like 40 games below .500 and maybe a bronze player. He has finest Gerrit Cole on the mound. I’m thinking this should be a fun game.
I no hit him through five with Chris Bassit, then combined for a no hitter with a couple other pitchers. Meanwhile, Cole goes 120+ pitches and holds me to five hits and for the life of me I can’t score. Twice I’m thrown out at third, and numerous fly balls that go nowhere and swinging strikes at pitches I am sitting on. I swear I started thinking something was wrong with my controller.
He finally pinch hits for Cole and I hit a walk off wall scraper with finest Machado.
Yes, I’m not that great of a hitter. Still, I think pitcher confidence is way too big of a factor.
This kind of game is borderline ridiculous.

I beat Kriner 4-3 today and that felt like a fat loss simply bc my hitting was awful

That seems like a low scoring game for you, Mitch. Were you on legend?

Yeah legend. I’m washed this year honestly, very inconsistent. Record and avg are horrible now but it is what it is. Taking very long breaks was detrimental to my consistency in game ig. Either that or I’m just getting worse as time passes idk

Taking long breaks from the game was probably good for your sanity though. Good on you.
