I'm asking for your help. How do you pitch with him? I get rocked every time I use him.

Not much to do other than try and tunnel the fastball/slider as best as possible in different locations. Only use the changeup a handful of times to keep your opponent honest, it hangs a lot. At the end of the day though if people don't have trouble with his arm slot, he's not gonna be very effective unfortunately.

I have him. I get rocked with him. Like above said, if the opponent doesn't have trouble with the release point, you're gonna be in trouble. Pitch mix is pretty bad.

He’s absolutely terrible on AS, serviceable on HOF but also depends on your opponent

I was in the same boat and decided to just sell him. Wasn't impressed at all with his stuff. Felt like he was easy to pick up on everytime I used him.

I have Sale and love pitching with him. He's gotten rocked a few times for me but has been extremely effective way more than the times he's been hit. I think Sale is the type of card that once you get a feel for him and learn how to use his pitch mix he can be nasty. I know a lot of people don't like to throw the changeup but I use it a lot when pitching with Sale. When I do throw it though, i almost always throw it down in the zone. Either a borderline strike at the bottom of the zone or down and out of the zone. If you can throw his fastball in that same range it can be touch to pick up on what it is, fastball or changeup. Mix in the slider on top of it and he's tough. I try and mix up the fastball, changeup, and slider down in the zone and moving it east and west on the corners. Occasionally coming up and in with the fastball as well. If you can tunnel em well, the fastball, changeup, and slider can all look like the same pitch out of the hand.

I use his change up low and away to the righties with reverse splits (Trout, Tatis, Betts) and they seem to never get solid enough contact for it to leave the park.

This...I've used Sale since the first month he came out and I would say I'd throw 75% sliders and work off of that w/ 4seams...changeups absolute bare minimum per inning & I've given sale a very short leash against ppl who square him up first 2 innings...saving grace is you can usually dot nicely with him at least in my case so tunneling sequences aren't a chore w/ him.

That usually results in a early swing LF bomb for 450ft against trout and tatis (perfectly placed even for me) so I wish I've had those results on my end.

That’s a bummer man. I do have the occasional tank, but I’m able to limit them a bit. This game is very random

I sold him a long time ago. I made 80k and thought I did good. Now if I still had him I’d make 500k. Oh well.....

Him and fuller are my best pitchers by far. He suits my style well, multiple 10+ k games , usually over 15 . I always hover between 650-900. I’ve had an absolute blast using the card , god I got him when he first came out. I’m 26-6 with a sub three era, him and feller are the only two that elite, kershaw is next in line then a huge drop off , I have and have used everyone

I don't like pitching with Sale. His fastball is way too flat, his breaking balls don't move enough and in online play they travel so slowly that you could book a flight while you're waiting for the ball to arrive.

Best SP in the game and it’s not close. First step is to determine your opponents bat speed, usually players will be on the fastball, so I like to start out pitching sliders and change ups that don’t catch the zone. If they swing out in front of that junk, just keep throwing it until they finally lay off or time it up, then it’s time to start mixing in the fastballs. I like to throw inside fastballs to RHB with the occasional dot up and away to keep them honest. For LHB, I will primarily pitch change ups and sliders away, until I feel they’re not chasing or trying to wait back for it, at which point I’ll slam a heater inside. Keeping your opponent off balance is the key, sometimes I’ll triple up on three inside fastballs, because they’re so convinced the slider is coming again after a couple of heaters. Used correctly, Sale will make good hitters take comical swings at pitches that would have ended up hitting them, or dive into the dirt. Keep at it.

This sounds like the oerfect way to use him except youll get blooped to death with the late swings. I plan on using him on my next rs game

Sometimes you’ll face an opponent who can hit everything, it’s not an issue exclusive to Chris Sale particularly, but it does occur. The best course of action in this instance is to get them out of there ASAP and turn to your pen or another SP, because you’ll be down by half a dozen runs by the time you’ve gone through your batting order and pinch hit for your starter.

I won't sell him because like almost everyone I don't need the stubs, and at the very least he has a spot on my all time Red Sox team.

I just wish I could pitch effectively with him

He's only good against bad/mediocre players that can't adjust to his weird motion.

I haven’t used him or faced him this year but I’ve heard from several people that he’s nowhere near as dominant as his card was last year.

Sale wasn't even as dominant last year as everyone made him out to be. In fact he had the exact same issue where if someone was able to pick up his motion he gets rocked
