I really only played a little last year, and all of this year. Suck at hitting still, but trying to be no money spent because the packs really don't pay off and have been learning how to make stubs via flipping. Over the last couple weeks and with the use of the website market place I am at nearly a million stubs. Has this always been the case or is it new to this year?

Stubs can always be made if you have patience and learn to flip cards. It's always been that way in The Show. It can take some time but it's possible to not spend a dime and have a God Squad.

True that flipping and NMS have always been integral to the game, but I would argue that this is the most extreme case the market has ever been. I’ve been playing since maybe 15-16 and have never had 5mm in stubs. I have never had a max buy order on any card; I have two 1mm buy orders currently.
With the volume of packs, rewards in TA program, free packs from programs (Topps, Postseaon), you could pick up the game now and have an end game team in maybe 2 days.
