He is the one card in the game were you've GOT to give him an awards card! The triple crown award he got in 2012 is so insane and rare! Leader in avg, hrs, and rbi! I'm not even a Tigers fan but COME ON

A 2013 MVP card would be better. I know the triple crown was historic and stuff but Miggy was better across the board in 2013

I would’ve preferred a prime card. Include the triple crown year, the year after and one more year. Now that would have been a good card.

Cabrera will be in Cooperstown in the Old English D.

Not even debatable. He will also have a statue outside Comerica Park someday.

    1. Cobb
    2. Greenberg
    3. Heilmann
    4. Cabrera
    5. Kaline
    6. Gehringer

7-10 could be very debatable for all time Tigers hitters. But these are my top 6 all time, and Cabrera is the 4th best hitter that’s ever wore the Tigers uniform in my opinion.

That’s a big feat considering we’ve been around since 1901.

    Nope Still a Marlin
Won his only title in Miami

Just because you stole him for a bucket of baseballs and a player to be born later does not mean he is yours.

I’m glad he won a title though. He’s had a great career man. He’s like a big kid out there still. Going to miss him when he retires.

Seriously he has been a joy to watch.
Not only in the big leagues but for his native Venezuela in the WBC.

One of the great personalities in MLB history, my only wish was that the English speaking market (besides Detroit) would of had a chance to see the vibrant personality he had. He was a bigger ham than David Ortiz (and better on the field) and Papi is adored simply b/c he had a better grasp of the English language. Miggy was always a bit shy about doing stuff in English early on.

In Miami he gave all of his interviews in Spanish and I was blessed to have seen first hand the way players love and respect him. He is still adored in Miami and besides the late Jose Fernandez, Jeff Conine and maybe Livan Hernandez, he is the most beloved Marlin.

We were all privileged to have witnessed such a great player.

    Yes.
You're the only one here who didn't forget that baseball is a team sport.
13 seasons with Tigers, 1 sweep in 1 WS appearence, 7 seasons with a negative record, 5 times division last place, 4 PO appearence.
But yes, he was a good hitter. That's the minimum you can expect when you pay a player 30 millions per year.
I'll never understand how we can consider players as "one of the best of all time" when the guy never won anything and has played in a notorious losing team. Same for Mike Trout.

That is simple. Baseball is the one sport where the individual player (besides the SP) has the smallest impact on team performance. Baseball is the ultimate team sport, it is a sport where having the best player does not guarantee you a deep playoff run, like the NBA.
In all other sports you can feed the ball to your best player on every play. In baseball, your best guy only has an opportunity to impact the game offensively once every nine turns. Imagine the NBA if MJ or Kobe could have touched the ball once every nine possessions down the stretch or the Pats could have Brady to throw the ball once every 9 plays?

Baseball is the one sport where you can be great and not achieve post season success. Cabrera was decent in the postseason (.278/.368/.517, 13 HR in 55 gms with only 48ks). But considering the whole of his career and his position (3B) he is one of the greatest players at his position and would easily be on the all time team of one of the oldest teams in professional sports. That my friend is the definition of greatness.

Serious question, what difference does it make what type of card it is?

The card is his age 29 season. The year he won the triple crown.

I wouldn’t consider Andrew Miller a bucket of baseballs. Although he was in Miami

Its definitely the “cool thing” to say these sort of things about recent players. Ted Williams played on some of the worst teams ever and people never say such things about him
