Is it better to mix up golds/silvers/bronze to do the exchanges? I was debating going for Soto and Machado or is just cheaper to buy them? Just looking for the cheapest route, either way. I had some extra golds so used those to get last few phases of Cardinals.

Absolute cheapest way is Bronzes(or commons, but commons take way too long), but it takes a good lot of them to complete the exchanges. I would do a mix of bronze, silver and gold if you want to get it done decently quick though

I'd say most teams between 10-20%. Yankees I'm at 40%, Cards finished.

I did deGrom last night, I already bought him but wanted to sell my extra to buy Griffey. I started out a nothing, I haven't used many Mets I guess. I had bought 20 Adam Duvals at 1600 stubs each the night before, I sold Chapman, bought more Duvals at 1600. Sold Leiter and pulled Murphy and sold him. Finally got to deGrom. I want to say it cost 80k total, not sure. 4 83 OVR gets you to 99% in the exchange.

Locked Griffey in and bought back Chapman, so I was happy.

You guys have obviously not done the exchanges. You can do just golds, 4 gold and one 300 bronze all the way from zero for almost free. I have done many of them and I am about 30k down. I got Soto, Machado, Bauer, DJ, Yu Darvish, and about 15 others. All for about 30k after selling what I get in packs and the stub awards, and I am not that lucky with packs. It is also fun to do this way. I have done the conquests though saving me 30 of the 210 points needed. Make sure you keep going after you get the Finest card you are going for. Those packs and the 10k rewards help.

    I bought all my exchange cards before TA 4 I use 1 (79), 4 (78), 6 (77), and 5 (76). That gets you a little over 50k points.

75s and 76s are the best balance of time and value imo. In the months leading up to TA4, I bought an enormous amount of 76s at or very near QS. I don’t think you can find them that cheap anymore, but who knows. Also, play the conquest maps. You get a ton of freebies in there that you can roll over into exchanges for the next team.

Exactly what I did. Still have hundreds of silvers left. I'm just to tired to sell them back.

I used to do it nice and slow and get those 50k exchange points for 3k or less.
Now I'm lazy and do 3x 83 and 3x 100 pointers to get to exactly 50k. Nice and quick
As some dude said above - you choose: do it cheap or do it fast. And what's your goal? Sell the TA Cards for profit, or use them?
With so many packs floating around, and given how easy the RIB Showdown is (those cards still fetch a nice price), stubs shouldn't really be much of an issue these days.

High silvers are your best option. You honestly can make him for free if you spend a little time putting in orders and listing the gold you pull in the free packs from TA.

I'll admit I've used alot of golds in these sets too just because you get so many for free doing the TA stages and conquest maps. But if you are worried about stubs high silver still offer the best value. I've made deGrom, Machado, soto, Anderson. Darvish and Betts. Working on William's and Realmutto today. Overall I'm up 80k in stubs.

Ive used mainly 77s,76s,&78s to do exchanges. I'll put in alot of orders then knock out a conquest, put more orders in then knock out a showdown. I actually ended up with more money then I started with(obviously from playing SD/Conq) grinding for Soto.
