Ok. So I fell way behind in this. Awesome posts. I found one of my Atari “Baseball” games from 1982 in a box over the weekend - need to figure out how to share the pic.

Anyway, so we’re locked in on:

    1. No limits on overalls
    2. No CAPS
    3. All Star mode so us old guys can see the ball coming

Just need to decide between the following for lineups:

    1. DD lineups (with all the new cards there is bound to be variety)
    2. Pick a team and use all time team
    3. Some other theme (only 80’s and 90’s players?) for our generation

Lastly, Over 40 league or Dads of any age? I am both so I don’t care lol - just want to keep this a fun league and not have to play crazy good full time players

I'm good with what you laid out.

    No limits on overalls
    No CAPS
All Star mode so us old timers can react quick enough....haha

Personally, I like the idea of just using straight up DD teams with whatever cards you want to use. The all time teams, and theme teams could also be fun but like you mentioned, especially with the release of all these finest cards there would be a ton of variety in lineups. A lot of us have spent the entire game cycle on building up their DD team so I say let's run our best teams out there.

Hopefully we can get this league going, I think it would be a lot of fun!

Everything in bold. I'm probably the oldest of the bunch and will use old cards like Ruth, Cobb, Williams, Hornsby, Mantle and maybe even Mays if I ever get him. So I'm up for using whatever card you want no matter the year....is that cool with everyone?

Cool with me! I'm in the Willie Mays line as well but I'm way down the list so I don't anticipate getting that card anytime soon.

I am a dad playing the game. I have been playing games since color baseball on the TRS-80. When the game brags that it is in color you know that you are in for a fun graphics experience. This is my first year playing The Show. I bought '19 with my PS4 in the lead up to this game. With COVID hitting I am glad that I did. This has been fun. Great to see that others my age are having fun too.

Mine was called Color Baseball. I didn't have a network bundle. I think when I played there was no such thing as a network.

I am an older dad who loves playing the show. I’ve been playing literally forever and I started back when RBI baseball and bases loaded we’re groundbreaking games On my Nintendo.

Are used to buy every single baseball game that came out every year and we compare them all and pick my favorite one. Do you think we have glitches now? Imagine having baseball players come up left-handed but have them be in the right handed box facing the wrong way. Then when you tried to take it back to the store they would not give you your money back!

Anyway, I am a closet player. I’m actually embarrassed to tell people I play so I never have anyone to share accomplishes with.

So all that said, are there any dads like me out there?

I am 58 and proud that I play. Just means I am young at heart!

they most certainly had a network its what we used in school at th time a simple command on your comp of "Kill Spool" would knock the ENTIRE network out and the teachers were left scratching thier heads. the only fix was a reinstall on the main comp LMAO!!!!!

Aah the good old TRS-80, my mate had one with a whopping 4KB RAM. I used to brag that my VZ-300 had 16KB. Back then I had no idea what it did.

I guess I should have said that I didn't have a network then. It was years before I had anything that would be online.

I'm a father of two great boys who LOVE everything baseball. We all play the show together, (on our own accounts.). It's a great game with a great community of players! I also remember the old school baseball games. I remember being blown away hearing the umpire call balls and strikes on Intellivision, which was between Nintendo and Atari. Gen-X gamers are OGs of the gaming world, LOL.

Man, that would be fun to have. Being a 15 year old, my dad always used to play videogames with me, but now he thinks that I don't want to play with him, even when I tell him I want him to. He is off work on the weekend, and I would love to play with him. He loves baseball almost as much as I do, and if he could experience this with me it would be the best moment of my life ever

That is sort of the same with my dad. When he asks to play, it is when I am a game away from a big player. When he can't play, I am not 🙂

I'm in for sure at the parameters discussed earlier about players on All Star etc. I want to be the Giants but if someone else wants that I will be the Astros. I don't think you can use your DD Team Name in a league.

Yeah seems like out of the people that chimed in, All Star was preferred, as was using your DD team with no restrictions. You can use any cards you want with no cap. I didn't know that you couldn't use your DD team name in a league. Like I said, never set one up or participated in one before so it's new to me. You can use your DD team though, just have to play under the name of a real MLB team?
