In real life, swinging a bat and connecting with a baseball takes talent, where as in this game you just press a button and allow the game to do the work for you.
In real life, pitching a baseball takes talent, where as in this game you just press a button and allow the game to do the work for you
I’m sorry, but bunting is part of the game. Most people who bunt in the show do it way too often, taking away the surprise element. Just adjust your defense, and a lot of the time, your opponent won’t know what to do as bunting is their only game plan.
However, it looks like your opponent in the game your referencing just surprised you with the squeeze. That’s how it’s supposed to work and takes the talent of strategy. I’m sorry he got one over on you, you just have to respect it, learn from it, and play the next game. I’m guessing you won’t let this happen to you again.
Pitching and hitting in this game is not just pressing a button. With hitting you need to time up the pitch, get your pci to a spot and then hit a button. With pitching you have to choose what pitch you want and then have a good sequence and then if your using a meter or analog you have to time it up correctly. With bunting it is LITERALLY just pressing a button and letting the game do the work for you. When people bunt at the beginning of the game I immediately start bringing my second baseman and third baseman in for any fast batter so I already do this but like I stated in my original comment, he tried to bunt once ever the whole game in like the sixth inning. I played college baseball for four years and have laid down squeeze bunts myself to win and tie games but the difference is I actually had to get it down with skill and team strategy. In this game I do not consider it strategy, I just call it letting the game bail you out.
Let’s get real, I think this is an ego thing and you’re just upset that the guy got one over on you and won the game. He used the element of surprise to make a squeeze work, that’s how squeezes work in real baseball. I’m sorry, but that takes mental, strategic skill. Just learn from it and move on.

No ego at all. I would have no problem losing the game if he did not let the game bail him out. Like I said before, it does take mental, strategic skill in REAL LIFE. In the game, he pressed the triangle button and let the game do the work. If that is what you call mental, strategic skill then so be it.

So instead if hitting into an ending inning double play; he was brave enough to try a suicide squeeze with the bases loaded.
Seems like good small ball.
Also, you start off the post with the words I do not see why all the hate then proceed to complain that he made a successful suicide squeeze.
So you call pressing a button and letting the game do the work brave? Interesting. Yes it is great small ball in real life where it takes skill to lay down a squeeze bunt but not in this game. Lastly, I was saying I do not see the hate because I do not see why people would hate on someone talking about the people who bunt dance and do all of that [censored] but what I was complaining about was someone letting the game bail them out to win a game. You say made a successful suicide squeeze as if the player actually had to do anything to get that down beside press a button. The game laid down a successful suicide squeeze, not the player I played.
And if he would've hit a Grand Slam to win it; would that have been the game 'bailing him out'? Because technically, all he had to do was, in your words, 'hit a button'.
Wrong. Like I told the other guy, in order to hit in this game you have to time the pitch up, get your pci to it and then press the x/square button so that actually takes some sort of skill. I would of had no issue if he hit a grandslam. Bunting is literally just pressing the triangle button and letting the game do the work so those are two totally different things.

I wish I had more opponents who had the balls to bunt and give me free outs, but it never happens unless they're brain dead since I immediately put my bunt defense on.

Pretty sure you still need to move the PCI to bunt.
However; I assume we're discussing the game vs AMBBBY.
If so; this is the Game Log for the bottom of the 9th:
He doubled to left field with Yelich and then he bunted Yelich over to 3rd with Mondesi. I would say that's smart.
Then you proceed to walk the bases loaded by walking Ruth and Tatis.
He then comes up to bat with Jimmie Foxx. Who bunted to third and it looks like Brett bobbled the ball (says it was an Error).
Was it cheap to bunt with Foxx? Maybe. But he took a chance and it paid off.
Now, you're a 100 Prestige level player and have over 500 RS games played; so you've 'been around'.
He bunted earlier in the inning. Did you put you shift into Bunt Defense when he came up with Foxx?
Because someone with your 'play Time' would think that a bunt would catch me off surprise here; so I better be prepared.
You weren't prepared. He took a gamble and it paid off.
I think I can safely say that ANY competitive player would agree with me that it wasnt the game out 'bailing him out'. It was just a situation where he knew your defense and took a shot.

My infield was not back. I had the third and first baseman in and the middle infield back in case of a grounder up the middle to turn a double play. Like I said he stole and bunted so therefore even though the bunt went right to the third baseman who was playing in there was no chance. I was just more mad because we had a great game going with no toxic bs and then to end it like that is [censored] in my opinion. It is not a move I would do but it is what it is. Have a good day.

Sorry but you're wrong again with two things. First off you literally don't need to use your pci to bunt. Just press triangle and the computer does the work for you. Second, he did bunt with Mondesi which I have no problem with because it was a sac bunt which is fine to me. Third, I had the third and first baseman playing in for Foxx with the second baseman and shortstop back in case he hits a grounder up the middle for a double play so my defense was exactly as it should have been. There was no error, it was a hard bunt right to Brett (who was playing in) and thee was no bobble. He stole and bunted so by the time Brett got the ball the runner on third was a few steps from home so there was no chance so don't assume I was not prepared when I literally was. Anyways I just don't believe in winning that way. That's not the way I would go about it just like I wouldn't ask for prestige stats in event games like a lot of these players but it is what it is. Have a good day.

He had Brock, Lofton and Trea Turner in the first 3 spots. I guess his gameplan was to cheese me as much as possible.

Haha if you got so annoyed by what I was saying then you should have stopped reading it. That sounds like your own personal problem to me. He had one man on and I intentionally walked two runners to make it bases loaded which is a smart move so it is not like he got three hits to get them on. My constant crying? I barely started being on these forums a couple weeks ago and have barely ever wrote anything so I do not know what your constant crying comment is about unless you mean on this post which was just me responding to two guys who responded to me explaining an example to the original poster about what he was saying. Adapt? How? I had the perfect defense for the possible bunt and threw a high fastball so there is no adapting that needs to take place. I just think it is bs to let the computer win the game for you but you can think whatever you want about the situation. I am not trying to change you or anyone elseś mind. Have a good day and just a tip, if something you are reading is annoying you that much, then just do not read it. Simple.

Can't believe how hard people defend bunting in this game!! I've lost on a suicide squeeze before and I went to bunt defense and he bunted directly to my 3rd baseman who did this awful animation and the winning run scored. So what did I do wrong? Game gave him win.
Example #2 guy suicides early in gm ok no prob caught me off guard. I'm up 1 run in the middle innings guy on 3rd 1 out go to bunt defense bunts it and my 3rd baseman does that bs where they whiff on a slow grounder guy ties gm up. Again gm animations bails him out.
Bunting is NO SKILL REQUIRED!! IJS -

Honestly, this is whiney, sore loser talk. As a baseball coach, he got you, plain and simple. You didn't suspect a bunt in that situation, otherwise you'd of thrown a ball high and tight trying to get a pop up (which would result in a gimme double play or down and in to make it where he either 1) bunts it foul or 2) whiffs and you get the guy stealing at the plate. You can argue that the game did the work for him and it took no skill all you want, but at the end of the day, the same can be said that you showed no skill either by not scheming around it with how you were pitching to Foxx.

Sorry Mr. baseball coach but you're wrong. Like I have said before, I had the third and first baseman playing in, middle infield playing in double play depth and literally threw a high inside fastball that he bunted hard straight to Brett so I was 100% prepared but there was nothing more I could do because he stole at the same time too. I played college baseball and have done this play myself but the difference is it took skill to get that bunt down which is why I would never complain about this situation in real life. All I was saying was that in this game it takes no skill at all to bunt so you're allowing the computer to get the bunt down for you and bail you out because you don't trust yourself not to either strikeout or ground in to a double play. Sorry that in this game I prefer to win by actually trying to use my skill and not letting the computer do it for me. Have a good night.

Sounds like you should eat a snickers, you get a little cranky when someone pulls a fast one on you. It's also convenient that you keep adding to your story as you keep going over this. You made no mention of moving in your 2B or 3B until AFTER it was suggested to you. You made no mention of pitching high and tight until AFTER it was suggested you. And you got a lot of "I's" and "me's" going as well. It's awesome that you want to win by using your skill, nothing wrong with that at all. But you're putting yourself on some moral pedestal and acting like we are we supposed to give you some sort of "atta baby" or some [censored].
