This is actually a great guess, I was trying to think of how they could release 3 versions of the same card
A fielding/speed oriented card, a power/contact oriented card, or a balanced card.
I think this might be it, and the idea is kind of growing on me.
It is kind of weird to only have boss, that could mean they want people to save stubs for the TA4, but that doesn't make sense... So, I think, having 3 bosses, the same guy, spread across 3 different periods in his career makes sense... I like the idea, and honestly it lets you pick the attributes you value the most.
Top end speed and fielding priority maybe from his younger years, a bit slower but more of a power priority with better contact than the HRD card, and then a balanced card like a career avg...

I wondered if it was evolution or a choice between similar but different Griffeys
Maybe, but they already have three of him in the game, this boss being the fourth. I doubt they add any more, imo
Well if it’s an evolution program then there are going to end up being like 6 of him either way. I figured this way maybe it might just by 2 or 3 similar but different 99 level versions of him (like an awards, a SS, and a prime for example) instead of a few lower cards nobody will use once they have the 99.
What you described would be cool! But.......it’s SDS, they will screw it up somehow.

He is a fan favorite. This is probably the only card they could get away doing this with. And no, his HRD card doesnt count as already in game. That card is a joke for Jr.

It sounds probable... BUT how many people are going to choose the Griffey Jr. That doesn’t have the best Power/Contact??? He wasn’t know for his speed or stealing bases.

It sounds probable... BUT how many people are going to choose the Griffey Jr. That doesn’t have the best Power/Contact??? He wasn’t know for his speed or stealing bases.
I’m taking his White Sox Impact Veteran bronze card personally.

What does everyone think the 99 card attributes will be, and how much improvement do expect on the contact vs lefties and righties? He already has diamond fielding on the 98 card, but i'm sure there will be an increase in fielding as well. I'm excited about this card and can't wait for it.

I’m sick of grinding mindlessly. I just want to play the game with my end game team.
Once I get Griffey I’m done with grinding and I don’t care about Finest. Last year I had all the Finest cards and eventually didn’t use one of them

Same here. All I’ve waited on for awhile now is 99 Jr. and 99 Chipper. I might try a 99 Adley if or when he drops too
