So I reached 755 in RS for the first time so I bought some cards for upgrades to make a push at WS. I have never made it to 800 mind you so I was excited. First game I’m cruising along 1-0 in the eighth when my Ted Williams decided to drop a pop up and two runs scored. I lose that game and shrugged it off and started another. Matches me up with a guy ranked 856. He proceeds to hit every pitch a mile. Even his pitcher had a HR which has never happened to me in RS. I could have thrown the ball near the dugout and he still would have hit a HR. Think he finished with 8 HR. I managed 1 run on 6 hits and mercy rule ended the game. Which is only the second time this year that has happened to me. I really do love this game but when it “demoralizes” you it’s hard to stay upbeat. Trust me I take a break and play other guys but these loses just hurt to [censored] much. I know I’m average at best in this game but throw a dog a bone will you. And why the hell do you have to get minus points for losing if I play a whole game. If you play at least 7 innings you should be at least even points and not minus. Sorry I don’t make posts like this just needed to air out

Really bad break on the dropped pop-up and the ensuing ambush from your opponent.

To touch on your last question though, the +/- system for wins and losses is all part of how the whole rating system is implemented. Take a read on the Elo rating system (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system), but essentially you get positive points for winning a game (more for the higher rank your opponent was or less for the lower they are) and similarly you lose points for losing a game (not as much if you lose to a much higher team and quite a bit if you lose to a much lower ranked team). If you had no chance for a loss of points on a loss for going 7 innings, you'd have a lot more people making World Series (and Championship Series for that matter).

I feel you it’s just frustration. Maybe not 7 but should be for playing 9 innings. Just let me break even. I barely play entire games. People always quit so I’m not sure how much more this will entice those ppl who quit all the time

Hey man, gotta shrug those games off. Either you played a really good player or your pitcher confidence was trashed early or a combo of the two.

It also could’ve been someone using a modified SCUF/aimbot/auto-aim (yes they exist, a quick google search will show you a ton of options and streamers caught using them).

Cronus Zen forums show users working on hacks for The Show as well.

Or you just threw a pitcher the guy has seen a thousand times.

I have to say, I am very good at seeing cheats in games. Not sure why but I just am. For instance, PUBG came out Oct '17. I was in a streamers chat very early '18 and told them radar was in the game. I knew 100% that it was in the game. Streamer banned me and called me an idiot. Well, radar was in the game and PUBG finally blocked it this year after 2 1/2 years. Been saying for a while that mouse and keyboard and mods (no recoil mainly but a few rapid fire) were infesting the game. In the recent dev letter, PUBG acknowledged these issues and said they were looking into solutions. I highly doubt they find one as Fortnite stopped them for a very short time only for them to appear again.

All that being said, I have not seen any cheaters in this game that I am aware of since '14. In '14, I was playing a player whose pitches were disappearing out of the hand. Pretty sure it was lag switch. IMO, SDS has done a great job in preventing cheating in a time where cheating in online games is quite prevalent.

I think we all can relate to what you’re saying. Whenever I get demoralized from a loss, I just turn off The Show & go play COD or Battlefront for a few hours. It’s important to clear your head & calm down or you’re gonna start being impatient at the plate, rushing your pitches, ect.

Agreed! There are guys out there that simply don’t miss. Those games are maddening.
Gotta walk away. One time I sold my ps4 and walked away for 7 months! Thinking about another sabbatical.

If you can get to 755 in RS, you hardly suck. You are definitely average to above average. Try sitting here in cellar and trying to get above 550.

I would be very proud of myself if I could reach 755 in RS. I somehow manage to have fun in this game and I’m currently sitting at like 450 with a 35-29 record. You’re killing it, in my humble opinion.

I got to 880. 3 times. And to make matters worse I can't hit with babe and Gehrig anymore. 40 points dropped off there average.... depressing.
