Take the Friendly Quit, Don’t Take it, Whatever

All right, good back and forth everybody. Let’s all get some sleep, come back tomorrow and rally against the bunt dancers!
-
It doesnt matter what excuse someone uses for sending a FQ before a pitch is thrown, i will always be convinced the reason is that you are intimidated by the opponent and shopping for an easy win
If you think otherwise than you are just gullible, but dont worry, there are lots of horny single mums near your area that want to hook up and the Nigerian prince wants to talk to you about your unclaimed lottery winnings

chicanery
I love this post simply because you used the word "chicanery". How capricious!
-
Man cmon, You didn’t ask for a friendly because of your old cat! lol!!!! You either saw the other guy’s record or don’t do well against who his pitcher was, ect...And if he doesn’t accept/reject your offer within 10 seconds then cancel the request and save your time. I seriously can’t believe you’re complaining about your opponent wasting your pause time that you have COMPLETE CONTROL OVER. What a dork.

And you know the “real” reasons I’m asking for the fq?. God I wish I was as intuitive as you. How do I achieve your level of greatness? And calling me a dork? Really put me in my place. Congrats. Your name calling and lack of evidence have won the argument I await your reply correcting my spelling or grammar.

Regardless of the reason for offering the friendly in the first place, this is another pointless complaint. The opponent is taking too long to review the offer? They're not going to wait over a minute just to accept it at the last second. Just cancel it. Problem solved.
Most of the time I deny friendly quits right away, but sometimes I will use that time to check my phone or computer since it's free pause time. Plus, usually it happens after I take the lead and I like to give my opponent a chance to think about how stupid that request was.
-
I join a game to play a game. So why would I accept a friendly quit? Also, this game is so random as far as who wins sometimes, you might as well play and see where it goes. Take it to the 5th/6th inning and see how you’re doing instead of just straight up trying to friendly quit. I’ve been on the losing side of being down by 6 and then coming back to win. You never know what happens in this game anymore. As far as letting the timer run out, I do it too. Not to be bush league which I don’t think it is either way. But more so because of karma. I’ve had it happen plenty of times for me to be a believer
-
I’m not superstitious, but I’m a little stitious.
Every freaking time I’ve declined a friendly, i have lost, badly, straight out of the gate.
I let the pause timer go until you cancel it, then I’ll go to player stats and check out your BA, then if I think it’s in my best interest, I’ll offer it back.

But to sit there and wait, hoping my timer goes out? Bush league man. That’s ok. People who do this generally bring their other dirt bag of tricks into the games. Prepare to run yourself out of the game. Karma is a [censored].
you are right pal its a bush league move. that being said, i rarely if ever give the friendly quit - we both matched up, lets go baby or give me that W

My very vocal elderly cat, who I swear recognizing when I’m about to start game, started whining and poking me the second the game started, which is why I asked for the friendly
-
Isn’t waiting for the timer in and of itself a shady tactic
-
If everyone is so annoyed by it, just don’t accept the friendly quit and we’ll play. Waiting for the timer to run out just wastes both of our time.
-
As stated above, people that sit on the decision generally show me what kind of player they will be during the game.
-
It’s just a stupid and shitty thing to do. Are you really that offended by the request? Jiminy criminy, get over yourself.
Honestly I think everyone explained pretty well what they do in certain circumstances. And TBH they all seem reasonable. If you are offended by any it is all a "you thing" man.
And always there is FQ KArma as Mitch said. And if you dont think it is real then F u dude.
- I mentioned in my original post about friendly quit karma.
2 if you’re offended by people offering a friendly quit, then that’s your thing as well

But you really didnt.
Check out the last lines of post one and post three. Perhaps it’s not as clear as it could be but my intention in those posts was to say that people who do this are asking fo the friendly quit karma to come back and bite them
I edited my last post to be more clear. Its BS and you know it. How do you wait through all the loading and decide your cat makes you need to quit when you see the W/L or lineup?
Then don’t accept and we’ll play the game.
Or just play the game man? You hopped on your PS4 and hit several buttons to get you to that point. It’s a cat. Throw it outta the room or something? Lol as someone said, it’s October. Let’s play!

Just pause the game and feed your cat, then come back and play. And if you score a run, try to refrain from messaging your opponent, "bet you wish you took that friendly quit now." Because generally that's how it goes with the friendly quitters before they ultimately get taken to the woodshed and become dashboard quitters
-

I don’t know. I’m in the boat of starting late in the year, being a parent, etc. if a guy is 100 prestige with a great record, what’s the point of wasting our times? Obviously this isn’t just “lets play” because it’s not going to be competitive. Like someone said, it’s October. What’s the point if you’re that good to beat up on someone who just started?
-
Just accept your loses like your beloved M’s do

The cat comes first. If he wants to play, I’m shutting off the game. I would just rather have the person accept or deny the fq request so I can get on with my business instead of running the timer just because i dared to offend their greatness with the request.
And I agree, messaging someone to rub it in is one of the worst things you can do in this game and is a good way for karma to come back and take you behind the ethereal woodshed

Now I'm jealous of your relationship with your cat. Our cat seems generally annoyed by myself and the kids. He just does his thing and only interacts with the family if we have forgotten to feed him

OP. I wait it out. But I dont do anything else you say. But now i can say if someone sends me a friendly they are the type of person to cry on a forum about it?? Since were just assuming random stuff like that.
