It's Seager
-
Seager laid a big fat egg today, but had a great series.
-
Did the Dodgers just win 3 straight games to win this thing?

No sir, he had a couple Perfect-Perfect outs
He smashed his controller

sure did. The pre-game announcers chose the dodgers to win it. then when they went down 2-0 they all jumped on the braves bandwagon. Now they're back lol.

And the 28-3 halftime debacle a few years ago by the Falcons. ATL sports fan has had a rough go lately. But there is something to say for getting this far. While most other fan bases are just watching and wishing.

The ghost of Lonnie Smith reared his ugly head with the Braves base running blunders.

I feel bad for Freddie Freeman. such a class act and great player.
-
Man this game was so intense, and I have never seen a series with so many defensive gems, on both sides. Atl will be good for a long time.
Credit to Roberts for sticking with Urias, and going with his instinct instead of analytics. I was concerned with Ozzie's success vs lefties too, but Julio was feeling it, and so Dave stayed with him.
On to the Rays, who are explosive and have great pitching, so it should be an entertaining series.

How about Buehler? Hershiser did it back in 88 I believe.
No way.
Hershiser had the single most dominant playoff performance I have ever seen.
He took a bunch of scrubs and a broke down NL MVP in Kirk Gibson and upset 2 of the best teams to never win a title, the 88 Mets and A's.Rest Buelher for game 2.
The A's did win at title in 89 they swept the Giants just FYI.

Congrats Dodgers
Don't pitch Kershaw in gm 1
Kershaw is better in his first outings of a series than his second outing.

Btw i was right the Mookie Betts rob of that home run was a game saver afterall.
The Play Turner made and bad base running by Atlanta was the difference in the game IMO.

Agreed. That was AWFUL baserunning. With men on second and third, you wait for the ball to go through the infield before you go home.

Yeah, if you are going to go you go, Dansby was dead to rights going, Riley should have just went to Third or once he went back then stay at Second. there were 0 outs.

Yup. I was hoping that Dansby was stalling to get Riley to third, but it didn't work out. I was mad at them.

No doubt, but the 88 A's and Mets were stacked.
The 88 A's were better.
More wins 105 vs 99
Canseco was at the peak of his powers. Coming off the 1st 40-40 season & MVP. In 89 he got hurt and played 65 games.
Eck was untouchable (unil that 3-2 backdoor slider to Gibson).
88 scored almost 100 more runs 800 vs 712.And that Mets team was special as well. Could have rivaled the 86 squad.

True, and as big as the Gibson HR was vs Oak, he had a big one vs the Mets but no one talks about the huge HR Scioscia had vs the Mets with out his HR the rest does not happen. It was a tying HR, and then Gibson walks it off in the 12th with a game winner vs the Mets.

That Scioscia HR off Gooden haunts me to this day.
The Mets were looking at a 3-1 lead, but Johnson stuck with Gooden in the 9th. Scioscia's blast was so improbable, he only hit 3 HRs that yr, the Mets were in a state of shock for a while.
Dodgers win in 12. 2-2 and Orel happens. He shuts the door in the 12th and pitches a gem in gm 7.
Those Dodgers were a team of Destiny.
It was a different era back then, but Myers was great that yr (1.72 ERA).
Sticking with a starter was rule then and not the exception it is now. -

Sticking with a starter was rule then and not the exception it is now.Agree it was a team of Destiny and the game has changed so much especially with pitching.
