The other day I made a post about wanting to sell fox. My reasoning was that I never liked old players , I never knew about him or heard. I Only know most hyped up players and all Dominicans players (I didn’t even know who Ken Griffey Jr was). People on the reply’s were telling me it be stupid to sell foxx cause He's good .Anyways I decided to try him out and with just 50 AB he’s been boomin .
.417 20 Hits 9 homers only 6 SO.
I play around 750-790 in RS haven’t yet made the jump over 800 . I’m definitely going to keep foxxx he exceeded my expectations and recommend him !!

More like AlanThalackofbaseballknowledge. There are far better players from the past than what there will be in the future. The old timers never took a day off and played for pennies compared to players of today. Most played for the same club their entire career mainly because there was no free agency and the club basically owned them. It is rare in this day and age that you don't have a great player go and chase the money in free agency.
When Foxx retired he was number 2 on the HR list behind the babe and it wasnt until Willie Mays in 66 that someone hit more than him. I actually used to lived about 20 minutes from the town he grew up in and was debuted in the majors at 17 while in his junior year of high school. He was also the quickest to 500 HR until Arod did it with using steroids.
You really need to pick up a baseball history book from a local library an learn about the greats even the great players that were never able to play in the majors

I have always been fascinated with baseball history. Everytime I am about to unlock a new legend or someone I haven't played with yet I try to do some research and find out more about them.
I read this the other day as I'm approaching 300 stars for this inning.

It is also actually a 10 part season cause the 10th inning spans from where the ninth inning left off I think it the early 80's to the early 2000's and the hr record chase. The second half is basically a documentary on Barry Bonds

But also it has gotten out of hand with the money there is no way Machado is worth who he makes. He is a whiny little [censored] who doesn't run it out to first or at least trot down lacks effort and he ruined Dustin Pedroia's career when he spiked him on a hard slide. If I had my way I would have him stand in the box against the hardest throwing fireballer and take 20 fastballs to the upper ribs

Nah you're bugging. These Athletes bring in a ton of revenue for these billionaire owners and most franchises don't even spend big $ they just pocket it. I'm of the belief that these athletes are worth the $ especially when they're the reason why these guys make 9 figures back on their investment.
Look at Tampa, it's admirable how they run their Front Office but what isn't admirable is not paying a player's worth. You can argue the Dodgers pay their players worth and are therefore the good guys. I'm more of a underdog / small market guy but I see both sides of the coin.

I don't think it's smart to compare past players with the present, it's completely different.
Who knows how'd it'd shake out if there were Free Agency earlier, no color barrier, 30 teams, no Great Depression or two World Wars?
