I really hope that SDS can come through next year and bring back the gameplay quality that we expect year after year.
I think that SDS should allow everyone a month-long free trial of MLBTS 21. The consensus has clearly voiced their opinions with regards to subpar gameplay this year. I know that this will never happen as the mighty dollar would be put at risk, but no need to be insecure, let the game do the talking...

Objection, your Honor. Facts not in evidence.
A bunch of randos posting on a message board != "consensus clearly voiced". They have the metrics behind the scenes that tells them exactly what the user engagement rates and dropoff percentages are.
If it's significant, than you'll see major structural changes to compensate.
If it's not (as I suspect is the case), you can continue crying into your oatmeal.

This would make absolutely no sense for them to do. Do all this work to make a game that people religiously buy every single year but before collecting any money for their work just hand all the impossible to please critics a free 1 month chance to throughly complain online about the game. They would say they don’t like but still spend hours a day playing just the same as they would if they paid full price for the game. This game is fine in my opinion , I like the content this year, I liked it last year and I’m sure I’ll like it next year. I have fun playing this game even though frustrating things happen sometimes I also see how frustrating things happen to my opponent too. If you don’t like the game
dont buy it next year. PS4’s are meant to be entertaining, relaxing, fun and if
Your not getting that playing this game go somewhere else man -

Read the forums and play the game. I obviously don't have the stats on hand. However, if you take a look at sales over the last few years, obviously there's a regression (clearly sales are up in 2020 due to covid, so this is an outlier).
- 2015 MLB 15: The Show - 400,000 (PS3), 1.01 million (PS4), 40,000 (PSV)
- 2016 MLB The Show 16 - 380,000 (PS3), 960,000 (PS4)
- 2017 MLB The Show 17 - 1.16 million
- 2018 MLB The Show 18 - 1.06 million
If the game was getting better, there's a minimal chance that sales would drop ~10% on a YTY basis, especially as they have minimal competition.

A drop in sales probably has more to do with number of actual baseball fans than the game. The game is alot of fun to play, too bad you don't enjoy it

It’s fair to ask for gameplay improvements. I think there are areas that many would agree need to be fixed/improved. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad game either. But to ask for a month long free trial? Never gonna happen lol. That’s kind of crazy to even propose. There’s a week long beta for that.

You include all these numbers and then not include 19 and 20? FYI MLB 19 was the highest selling baseball game in US history and 20 I assume broke it due to Covid. A drop in sales from MLB 17 to by far the worst game in the show history doesn’t prove your point. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.playstationlifestyle.net/2020/01/17/mlb-the-show-19-sales-united-states/amp/

This article has zero quantitative data supporting that, thus why I didn't include...

Fun fact Sony does not publish its digital sales number only physical sales number get publish because of retailer data so all these numbers tell us is that retail physical sales have reduced and likely increased on the digital side
Which makes sense as SDS and Sony offer more on a digital purchase vs a physical edition. Also and speaking from my personal experience is that there is no sales tax on digital purchases here in Canada vs the retail side so that is a 13% savings.
Your numbers are incomplete and dont back up the claim your making

Sales were up in 2019 and even more this year dude.

Shows that it is the best selling Baseball game in US history, which in case you didnt understand, mean it sold more copies than itself did years past. So yes, it is relevant.

Plus this years game is nowhere near one of it worst. I put 18 as a recent worst and probably 17 right behind that.

I agree. 17 gets romanticized as such a great game when the fact is you couldn’t play online for the first 2 months due to horrible servers, content drops were pretty much twice a month instead of twice a week, and literally half the cards were unusable because of topspin/swing types. Not to mention to hit the ball hard you hard to be just late
