"I ran straight to the ball with Willie and he didn't catch it, you can tag MLBTS20 for that one. Maybe if I say something they'll fix it."
hahahah

Arbitrary results in addition to intense pitch speeds make the game extremely unfulfilling and hard to enjoy. IMO prioritizing content over gameplay sucks.
SDS, do you have any plans on enhancing your server situation? I get tired of spending thirty minutes trying to find a game because everyone wants to play at home.
@SDS_Jax
SDS has to be nerfing exit velocities in Showdown. I've never seen so many perfect/perfects consistently under 100 mph exit velocity. Even with the likes of trout, etc.

First pitching, then hitting, now baserunning... oh my!
With how awful gameplay has been this year, they should open up the Beta/Alpha for months to allow for ample feedback. Fingers-crossed, SDS can provide high-quality gameplay next year!
Coming from a player that has hit the 1100s, when you make world series it's easier to win against players above 1000 than against little billy at 850. I know this thread will get a lot of opinions, but based on all the games I've played, my winning percentage gets much lower in that final game. Feels like this makes sense because after hitting WS there's not much left to play for...
MLBTS 18 and 19 have epitomized mediocrity... at best. I know that this complaint is getting repetitive, but we need to go back to the MLBTS 16, and prior days, where user input was much more consistent. I'm a fan of having a game that is playable for everyone. However, having ambiguous outcomes isn't a good long term solution.

2020 has been a year of shitty and MLBTS can be thrown in the mix. I find myself playing the game at a fraction of the rate since the PS5 came out and it's been great. I wish SDS could give me hours of my life back from this POS game.
I hope 2021 will treat us better and a center cut good timing swing on a 102mph fastball won't yield me a 92mph exit velocity fly out... cheers!

Full disclosure, MLBTS has been my favorite video game for the last decade. However, since getting my PS5, I've expanded my game library, and with that, I've severely decreased playing this game.
First, I want to point out that no game is perfect, but after playing a variety of video games, it's apparent that MLBTS (especially this year), unequivocally has the worst gameplay out of any sports game I've played in a looooong time. Yes, this has been a large topic of discussion for a while, but even playing the most basic of games like PGA 2k21 has shown me that setting a foundation by getting the basic fundamental gameplay to a consistent level is the most important aspect of every sports video game. I hope SDS can get this right next year...
Hah you must not play 2k or Madden!
Actually, I've been playing both and would say with confidence that the gameplay is better in both Madden and 2K than MLBTS
And credibility is suddenly lost. Madden is absolute donkey, literally a game of animations and complete rng. 2k I can't remember tbh.
How so? I would argue the fundamental gameplay for Madden is well above MLBTS. When playing this game, especially online, there are so many inconsistent and often unexplainable outcomes. I could go on all day about bad pci timing & location, errors, inconsistent pitch location results, fielding, baserunning, etc. Yes, Madded does have many flaws, but at least the gameplay is consistent enough to a level where outcomes can be explained.

Would love to hear what SDS would say about the gameplay if they had to take truth serum. Can we start a petition???
This card is insane, hits everything...

@eatyum said in Did they tinker with hitting?:
That has always been a thing, don't ask me why, but even hitters with over 80 pwr sometimes fly out on P/P, it's not a recent thing, but it's still dumb
Sheesh... I was in shock when it happened, wish I took a screenshot
I just a perfect-perfect flyout off a 102 mph rob dibble fastball... Look at the last game log if you don't believe me
