Pudge Reviews (HOF and Legend)
-
Have been mixing in Pudge in my practices and was wondering how he has done for some of you. His defense looks great, and he has hit very well in practice too. Just don’t want to run him out there if he swings a wet noodle in live action.
Thanks in advance!

He's starting to come around for me. I typically don't bother with shorter players (the strike zone just feels weird) but his defense is too good to say no to. He won't be an offensive powerhouse or anything, but that's the tradeoff
-
I've been blasting with him in my Conquest Extreme Games. Even the HOF games
-
I'm not a fan, his swing doesn't generate consistent exit velocities.

I have him and he’s easily the best catcher I’ve used. I generally play RS on HoF and Legend, and he hits great and with pop. And his defense speaks for itself. Definitely can’t go wrong.

Balanced Catcher CAP is just as good and you get any swing you want to use. Heck, name your CAP after Pudge and give him a better swing
-
He’s been meh so far but I don’t have many ABs. He was a monster for me in a BR on run but in RS on HOF, nothing spectacular so far
-
Defense is good, swings a wet newspaper.

I bought Kershaw very early because I didn't think I was going to earn 300 Stars in this Inning (which would've been the first time for me) but it looks like I'll still get to 300 -- despite only really digging into the game again for the past few days -- and I'm going to take Pudge. I've been more than satisfied with my Matt Wieters & Craig Biggio tandem (every once in awhile I mix in FS Joey Bart & SS Jorge Posada, too) but Pudge's speed and all-around game is very appealing.
So yeah, I'm going to give him a go to see if he can take over for Wieters. It's going to be tough to usurp Wieters though, because I really need and value his switch-hitting ability.
