.I'll like this post for the simple reason of spelling Saltys name correctly all of this time later. Im not sure I could have pulled that off even when he was half way (slightly) relevant.
Don't give me too much credit. I absolutely spell-checked myself before posting.

LMAO there is always one of these dudes. Freaking ANNOYING
Learn to spell, don't butcher the english language, and you'll get no grief.
I myself don't play spell checker on here; else, I'd be at it all day.
english should be capitalized. Sorry, I just had to.

The irony of someone saying learn the English language, then misusing a ";".

Or not capitalizing English.

I'm doing well with his 97 Home Run Derby card. I'm somewhat optimistic.

That's all good. I actually debated whether I should, didn't want to look it, so just went with it.

They changed his swing this year and I’m batting 400 with him in about 200 abs. He’s actually pretty good this year

I believe I speak and write quite well. If I was writing an English paper, I'd use a checker. And it doesn't matter how many times it tells me I'm writing in a passive voice, that's just the way I write and I'm not going to change.

Everything to the lowest common denominator, right?

I’m confused as to how his HRD card is a 97 but this is a 99. Seems they weight certain stats towards overalls in a strange manner.
-
And now I’m even more confused, because according to bbref he hit .323 with 34 homers in ‘91. While he went .348 with 12 Bombs off lefties, he hit a respectable .315 against righties, which is also where 22 of his 34 total homers came. So I don’t really agree with just 80 power vs RHP. This obviously won’t be his best card, much like Babe Ruth, but they could have juiced him a little more given his stats.

You face righties more than lefties. Slugging percentage is a much better stat to look at for rates ( and ISO even better, but I don’t understand it as well). Case in point - he did much better against lefties in average and slugging, hitting around 30 points higher and slugging 150 points higher.
-
This will obviously be his best card. No one yet with an Award card has been eclipsed with a better card this year. (Trevor Story might get an upgrade via Finest, but that's it.)

This is true, I didn’t look at the amount of AB or XBH hits, just took a cursory glance at his splits for ‘91 and his BA and HR. Still feel like there’s gonna be a Signature Series version of both him and Ruth at some point, which is why they’ve left room for improvement.

There will not be a signature version for either of these two guys. They said at the beginning of the year that sig, awards, or prime is a guys best card that will be released. Only Exceptions I can possibly think of are Story/ Machado getting finest upgrades, but there are plenty of other choices for the Padres

Agreed. I’m still holding out a sliver of hope that they make a sig pitcher Ruth with maxes out hitting stats, but it’s not gonna happen

Oh, I missed that obviously. Meh, then. I guess this is what happens when we get single year versions of the best legends instead of cards that reflect their whole career. Content seems weird this year in that context, Wonder what they have planned in terms of card type and stats for the rest of the big name legends still to be revealed.
