Lightning Tatis vs Sig Rollins
-
Right now I have Rollins at short. If I lock in the final 16 TN cards I just obtained; I can get Tatis.
OR I can sell these cards and get about 290K.
So ......
-
To those who have him; is Lightning Tatis 290K better than Rollins?
-
Do you think they'll eventually release more July/Aug TA packs that may drop some of these cards to a little over QS value?
-
Or do you think that these cards (20K+ ones) will hold there value because they're needed to get Tatis?
-
-
What would you do with that 290k?
I do think Tatis is way better than Rollins, but the stubs cost does not factor into my decision, I have a good amount of stubs and nothing really on the marketplace I want.
Rollins was good, but sort of a carbon copy of Alomar for me, so I value the power Tatis brings more.

Honestly; without selling them, I still have 480K in my bank and am sitting on another 200K that I could possibly liquidate if I sell off done cards I'm holding for investments.
But if you asked me this sane question last week; I would say Prime, Prospect, and HRD players to use towards Trout. But since the RIB program is dropping tomorrow; I won't need to buy and Prime players. And I still have the Conquest Extreme to do, so I'll maybe luck out with the Prospect/HRD packs from that.
But, to answer your question: the only card I'm waiting on right now is Griffey and chances are he'll get 'Grind 99'. And if he's not; I'll probably just stop playing; as I refuse to pay a premium for ANY player.
So short answer: I'm probably better off locking them in. Since I doubt they'll drop in price anytime soon.

As someone who has regularly struggled with hitting, I've still hit pretty consistently with Tatis because of his glitchy swing - very similar to Awards Trout. Rollins never had the exit velo for me, and I routinely switch around looking for a 40-50 at-bat sample before deciding to move on. Tatis started hot and continues to rake 150 or so at-bats in. He's as valuable as Trout and Mantle, and comparatively costs way fewer stubs
-
I first tried Rollins in BR before I even unlocked the 300 stars to choose between him and Maddux. He hit a HR in 4 straight games. Dude was raking. Took him as my boss pick. Since then he’s cooled down a lot. Got Tatis and he’s definitely starting off hot. Go with Tatis. He’s got everything Jimmy has besides the switch hitting
-
I didn't even want to like Tatis. I was doing well with Bichette. I started off pinch hitting with Tatis, but now I play him at 2nd. Hes got 21 HR in about 150 at bats so far. I agree that he is like Trout with exit velo
-
Thanks guys. I'm locking them in for him.
Now I just need 2 more to get to 35.
I still have the first two TN Moments to complete; but I may just buy Rios and Hendricks for around 15K so I can concentrate on something else.
-
I have both, Rollins is prestiged, Tatis isn't yet. Rollins makes it very hard to take him out batting like .380 with him when I'm like a .280 hitter. He's faster, a switch hitter, a huge threat on the basepaths and a better defender because he's a bit faster at short and has better reaction. His defense is unmatched at short to me and I value that a lot.
I haven't clicked with Tatis yet and do very well with Rollins so it's just about comfort. Tatis is currently playing 3rd for me with his great arm but it changes the balance of my lineup since I usually run Brett at third.

Who is your 2B?

Awards Hornsby.
But I'm another post; I asked about putting Tatis at 3rd (over Awards Sheffield or LOTF Schmidt) and keeping Rollins at shortstop.
That's the only issue about having this many options. To many possibilities.
-
Tatis has been a monster so far but I know each swing is personal preference. Worth changing it up and seeing what works! Best of luck!
-
Yea def worth locking in for Tatis. He's been my best hitter since I added him to my team. I do really like Rollins too and I think there is room for both. I play Tatis at 3rd and have Rollins at SS, Hornsby at 2B. Even if you had Tatis at SS I think its worth keeping J-Roll around the team
-
I love Rollins. He’s been best overall SS I’ve had. I had Hornsby at 2b, but I’ve done well with Tatis, so I sold off Hornsby and moved Tatis there
-
I'm going Rollins at SS, Hornsby at 2b, Tatis at 3b.....I'll figure this mess out when 99 Chipper drops, until then I'm set
-
I think Tatis is miles better than Rollins. But those TA cards will hold value as well and they're likely to increase over time as more people will lock them in and the supply won't increase. I still think Tatis is definitely worth it though.
-
I’ve got tatis at 3rd and Rollins at SS.
-
I have prestige Rollins and Tatis. I am hitting .100 with Tatis and .350 with Rollins. For me it is Rollins.
-
I did not have success with Rollins. Tatis has been pretty good but the best card from that collection is Castellanos. I rake with that card and is now my primary 3rd baseman. So Tatis was worth it because Castellanos comes with him. Well as long as he have the other lightning cards that is
-
Tatis at 3rd, Story at SS, Robinson at 2nd.
-
I can't get it going with Tatis. Castellanos peppers that right center field gap for me though.
