Like, you play a few time a week and still suck.

If Honus Wagner had a baby with Cy Young’s daughter, and she married the son of Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio’s wife and had a son who grew up to marry the daughter of Ted Williams and Lou Gehrig’s wife, and they had a daughter who had a baby with Ken Griffey Jr’s son, who grew up to be 100X’s better than Mike Trout, and SDS creates the one of a kind Immortal Edition of him with all 150 ratings and he was on my squad...

...I’d still hit like .079 with him.

That’s how bad I SUCK. Kudos to you elite dudes out there. I have zero clue how you do it.

You could act that you are good before the first pitch of a game or when you make the first run.

I only play offline but I'm always on the hardest difficulty, I forget what it's called, I think Legend. This year's game seems a lot easier than most years to hit. I'm killing the ball this year. I can't stop hitting home runs with Kyle Schwarber. Here's what you should try that turned me from someone who was terrible on normal difficulty to someone who crushes the ball on very hard. Put your TV in what's called game mode. All flat screen tv's have a game mode. It reduces the input lag and it really makes a difference. That's why people who play on monitors have a huge advantage, they have next to no input lag.

It’s difficult to gauge exactly how good or bad you are at this game if you play online. You can’t judge your skill level by the quality of the opponent you lost to, or defeated, because the game doesn’t play fairly. You could consistently make better inputs than your opponent for nine innings and still lose, it’s not always based upon skill.

That said, I don’t think I’m very good at this game. I’d say my hitting is probably 3/10 and my pitching 7/10 on a good day when the ball doesn’t hang randomly and my opponent doesn’t yank everything out for an early homer using directional. I like pitching more than hitting because I understand pitching. I grasp the concept of setting up batters, inducing the kind of contact I want, as opposed to the kind of contact that my opponent wants. It even works as it should in game from time to time, unlike most of the hitting.

Sadly, the focus is always on who can hit the most home runs in this game, with strategy and tactics taking a backseat to swinging as early as possible and scoring mostly on home runs. Now, they’ve dialled it back a little, granted (earlier in the year all my SP had an ERA approaching 10 and I would often hear the line “break out the record books, back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back home runs!”), but it’s still not quite baseball in my opinion. It’s a shame, because there’s so much more to the game of baseball than just hitting the ball. With all these pace of play rules and garbage IRL, I doubt it will get any better in years to come, I don’t hold out much hope for improvement for next year and next gen.

I'm pretty decent at this game, it just depends on a lot of factors. I have good days and bad days in terms of my performance—somedays I'll hit well, and other times I struggle making contact. Just part of baseball, I suppose. I really don't do well if I had poor sleep or whatever, fatigue makes it hard to focus.

I have never made WS but I really do not try, saves a lot of stress, I am not good in the events but play enough I will get wins to add up. I do not take this game to serious and just have fun. I think if I put time in practice Mode I could become a lot better of a hitter. I just can not focus enough to follow the ball from pitchers hand to the plate every pitch. Yeah I k more than I should. I can pitch pretty good in this game but suck at hitting.
