Let’s be real, the 9th inning in this game is an absolute joke. I mean seriously how can I give up 0 runs on 2 hits and the 9th inning here comes mantle trout and whoever else has 100+ clutch and no matter what you do they will get the job done. Please take this out of the game. It makes the 9th inning unbearable and not fun at all.
I can count multiple times I said I was losing in the 9th before it even happened. Error, blooper bomb...game isn’t even worth seeing out if you have a lead you mine as well kiss it goodbye. Make it far throughout the whole game. Till you fix this, this game will not be purchased next year.

    From,
Everyone who knows this is BS!

yah the 100+ in all the hitting stats has nothing to do with it. Its all the clutch factor. I'll say the same thing I've said all year. Your inability to close out a game does not mean the game is broken. There are plenty of things wrong with the game, this is not one of them.

My inability to close out games? I’m 80-41....and half those losses come in the 9th inning. No choking just the games take over factor if you will is way to high and needs to be scaled down.

when you make a late comeback do you think its your skill or this "take over factor"? If you think its your skill then you need to put on the big boy pants and accept that the other player stepped up when you blow a lead.

There's something to this., and I acknowledge that I have been on the + end of this. If you're up going into the 9th you have to figure out how to not lose. I try to not throw the ball anywhere near the zone, but I have had balls out of the zone low and away crushed also.

I think there's a bonus given to the chasing team but I also think they have to be able to take advantage of it. If you swing at junk you won't see a benefit. Momentum in this game seems to be very a real thing, but there is no way to measure or explain it's effect in live games.

The end game result is because (mathematically and in the RNG world) this HAS to happen or these clutch factors are worthless to put on a player card to even consider. That would be why they magically hit pitches (even the laughable change up bounced on the plate crushed 480 feet). I hear ya, but the experts have spoken though, therefore leaving your point as moot. I guess we just live it and just expect it.

Here's a "realistic" or "possibly reasonable" explanation to seeing more leads blown late in the game. Two factors, pitcher stamina and confidence. For some reason, relievers stamina seems to drop faster than starters. There are times I throw 12 pitches with a reliever and they are in the yellow already and I haven't even used them for 3+ games. When stamina drops, pitchers tend to leave more "hangers" in this game. Relievers should all be able to throw nearly 20 pitches before their stamina drops into the yellow, and that's only if they're throwing a lot of bad pitches and getting behind in the count. Working ahead in the count should allow their stamina to stay green. The other factor is pitcher confidence and I think this is the bigger one.

Relievers confidence tends to only slightly differ from a starters in the sense of how quickly it builds. When pitchers have normal confidence, they are much more likely to have bad RNG based results in the game. It seems like for a reliever to get high confidence they have to either strike out the first two batters they face and then get ahead, by this point you're down to 1 or 2 strikes and the game is basically over. Relievers, especially those with clutch ratings in the 100+ should start out with enough confidence already that it only requires them to get ahead or get a quick out and they're nearly full.

I think these two factors, coupled with the "hangers" that happen a lot more this year make it so hard to close games out. I don't think the game favors anyone or tries to dictate a winner, simply that the way the game is designed it favors hitters over pitchers coming in out of the pen.
