I think at the end of the day how you see value in your investment is really the main factor. Since I was playing the moments 2 get the 2 or 3 free cards the buying the others the investment wasnt a huge impact.
Overall for this program I made 200k, I know have 40+ cards rated 92+ and 2 99s overall that's pretty good bang for my buck

Ok here is the math plain and simple so pay attention. You get 13 total tops now cards from completing the moments. Everyone had the opportunity to get a free Lucas Giolito. Now you’re up to 14. Everyone had the opportunity to collect Amir Garrett at the beginning of the season so now we’re at 15. When the POTM program launched guess what guys they duplicated your tops now packs from the whole month. So now you have 13 additional tops now cards bringing your total to 28. Add in the 7 POTM cards in the program and you’ve collected 35 cards which oddly enough is exactly what you needed for the collection. Guess what, Tatis could be had for free. No investment what so ever. Now if you choose to sell those cards as you get them, well that’s on you and you can play with garbage SS for the remainder of the games lifecycle. Yes Tatis is worth every stub you spend but he could’ve been had for free if you were patient.
Exactly I just took everything they gave for free and actually was able to sell a few TN I had and didn’t need. So got Tatis, Castellanos and some stubs back. Win

I agree, because I was smart to buy up the tops now from previous weeks, when they dropped the POTM program where they duplicated what they originally gave us through the moments I was able to make over 200k in profit from everyone panic buying the tops now cards to complete a collection that could’ve been had for free if they had been patient.
-
Bottom line Tatis (other than your time grinding) is free. You are able to grind moments and receive 35 TN/MA cards. If one did all that you also gained Stubbs just by playing while unlocking TN cards that cost nothing.
Just because x card is worth y amount on the market doesn’t mean it’s costing you anything if you paid zero for the card in the first place.
The question you could ask is “Is Tatis worth the 200k or so stubs I could accumulate by selling off my TN cards?” and that answer would be take Tatis every time.
-
I didn't spend a single stub on him. I think I never sold any of the Topps Now cards and those added up with the ones you get in the program was plenty to do the collection.

Thing is I made 200k profit because I bought every tops now prior to the price skyrocketing. So when the Dups dropped in the POTM program I sold them for anywhere from 12k to nearly 25k made over 200k profit not 200k all together.

So in the MA program, you get 7 non sellable Topps Now cards. That leaves 28 left that you have to lock into the collection. I realize that you get a boatload of them free in packs, but according to my math, the cost of you locking in those cards for Tatis and Castellanos is about 400K stubs.
That Tatis card looks dope, but is it worth it? How are y’all playing with his card so far? Really debating if I should lock in for him or take the stubs and run!On a related note, if you lock in those cards for collection can you still quick sell those diamonds for 5K?
I got 4 dupes from the MA program and only had 2 buy one from the market. And that's after selling 2 from the free packs weeks ago. Unless you have sold every card from these free topps packs you shouldn't have to spend anymore than 40k or so.
I got the Tatis card for free, I did all the moments and the mission I did not sell any of the previous cards needed. 0 stubs spent to get Tatis.
-
Yeah I sold a few of the high priced ones that I bought when the prices were about 7-9k. Rosario I sold for 20k so an easy 10k profit. I had 4 Gioletto which I wish I had not sold when I saw his market tanking cause now he is going for 14k. I had most of them from buying them on the market so any of the ones that I don't have I pick up in the packs and sell the ones I do have. I made about 100k this weekend just selling the cards I got in the packs. I even pulled a Diamond out of the twitch pack. Saw NL starting pitcher and was thinking holy [censored] I got Degrom or Scherzer. Womp Womp forgot Lugo went Diamond and was now a SP

You are misunderstanding the question. Not sure why you assume I haven’t been “patient”, but I’ve completed all the moments and programs to claim Tatis for “free”, just like yourself. But Tatis is NOT free. The opportunity cost of locking in those “free” SELLABLE Topps Now cards is about 400K right now. The question is Tatis worth it?
Put it to ya this way. If someone gave you 200K and suggested you buy a Ferrari, that’s not a free Ferrari. You could’ve spent that on anything you wanted. For instance, instead of locking in that 400K worth of Topps Now cards for Tatis, I could use that to buy a “free” 99 Sale AND 99 Scherzer for my rotation.

I believe you have misunderstood what I’ve been saying. Not only did I not have to invest in Tatis, I ultimately got a return of 400k stubs back for a 200k profit because I not only locked in the 35 needed cards but also bought the rest of them then I turn around and flip the duplicates from the program and the extras I didn’t need to complete the collection. So is Tatis worth it in the scenario that I’ve been saying the whole time? Yes is my answer and he’s worth every stub spent even if I didn’t completely manipulate the market for a huge payday.

Those cards are straight equity. Who gives a rats a s s what their value is. That literally changes from minute to minute. What doesn’t change is the manner in which I obtained those cards. Simply put I did not purchase Tatis for a single stub I actually profited from his Program. That’s it!!!!!

You investing in Topps Now cards and making profits is irrelevant, though. No matter how many stubs you have or have made, the bottom line is when you lock in those cards you are basically paying 400K for Tatis.
You failed economics didn’t you? Every sellable card has intrinsic value. However if you didn’t pay for the card than NO you haven’t paid for the card. That intrinsic value is then profit similar to how You gain equity in a home. If you choose to sell the TN cards rather than lock them in then yes you pay 400k for Tatis. But for someone who does not sell free cards (because as stated earlier each sellable card has intrinsic value) than you have bought nothing and only hold the profit of that card in equity. It’s simple market economics. It’s not difficult to understand and you telling me I spent 400k for Tatis is not accurate and makes others question if you have the intellect to understand the subject with which you’re arguing. Please don’t reply back unless you can grasp the real argument being made.
Why do you have to be so condescending? The person was having a rational discussion, and didnt make it personal with you. I'm unsure why you feel the need to make it personal and act condescending in this matter toward them.
Are you my mother???? No, so move on.

Why you dumping on Trea Turner, Ernie Banks, Robin Yount, Jimmy Rollins? Like they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure.
Im not dumping on anyone I’m giving this mental half wit an economics lesson. Those guys are good but not in the same league as that Tatis POTM card in my honest opinion
You're actually right which sucks for me since I went through the torture of prestiging Rollins. Tatis leapfrogged everyone at Short...Which teaches me a valuable lesson in prestiging...why bother when the card is pretty much outdated by the time you're done. Sigh.
Sorry for the tedious posts on this matter but some people are clearly not capable of understanding the market especially for this particular program. I guess to me it seems as elementary as single digit addition but to others they get lost in the semantics of it all.
