Still another week without corey seeger going diamond. There’s is definitely some bias with Sds padre players are getting upgraded like there’s no tomorrow and a dude who’s batting 300+ for the whole year isn’t a diamond yet is

Tim Anderson might win back-to-back batting titles and he’s in the MVP conversation, but he doesn’t get so much as a bump from low gold to high gold. Come on, SDS.

Here's the thing, they are subjective in their selections. Look at Lugo and Kenley, nearly the same stats, but Kenley has been more consistent through his career. The team with the best record in baseball only has 3 diamonds, but should clearly have 5 like the Yankees. Seager is a clear candidate but for some reason SDS doesn't get it, or they just don't care. Also, LA is not the only team getting the shaft... look at Tim Anderson, dude is on fire but can't even get a bump. @Victor_SDS

I bought up 15 Seagers when he was silver and sold all of them when he went gold. I have no time to wait and see if one day he goes diamond. I am fine with my profit.

The player upgrading system this year is pretty nonsensical. Guys are going up to diamond without any real statistical rationale one week (Whit Merrifield), and then when the player inevitably crashes the following week, they're back down to gold. Other players who have stunk all year (Javier Baez) refuse to be downgraded, and then players who have been excellent all year (and the prior year), like Nelson Cruz, Tim Anderson, etc, have been mostly ignored. Like, how is Luke Voit a diamond over Nelson Cruz? Both are worth nothing in the field or on the basepaths, but Cruz has a 195 wRC+, and .450 wOBA, whereas Voit is only at .389 wOBA and 149 wRC+. No reason for one to be diamond, and not the other

Not tryna tell another bro what to do with his stubs, but surely you could have probably afforded to sit on that 15-20k profit lol

This is the truth. Popular players are protected by @SDS and players who are deserving are shafted. The players you pointed out: Cruz, Anderson, Seager, Kenley, as well as others are more deserving, but @SDS has to pander to popular players, and big market teams.

You’re funny. LA isn’t a big market team?

I bought him for around 300 or 400 stubs and sold him for 2000 and 3000 stubs so I am okay with it. Plus, there is no guarantee he does diamond anyway and even if he did, oh well. I am sitting on over 800,000 stubs so I am fine.

I've looked closely through the roster update the past few weeks, and it's really silly and nonsensical. You can tell they just make stuff up, essentially. The ratings increases and decreases are strange. Some going 1 point (what could possibly happen on the field that would justify a 1-point increase or decrease) and vice versa, some attributes change by up to 15 ratings points. What can happen in a week that justifies that big of a rise or drop? And it's clear when looking through that some things are just focused on or ignored, and that some changes are made just to affect the overall rating to the way they want it. For the most part, the weekly updates have totally screwed up the way these are done, I'm guessing. And the amount of players that rise (In overall) is insane while few actually drop.

And then there's the positions changes. They are super proactive on pitchers (often times wrongly) and then disregard position changes for players.

And then there's the new players added. Why are they taking time adding free agents?

Overall, it feels like it's just kind of made up to suit what they want.

It's not just what happened that week.

In prior years, attributes were based on a 3 year sliding scale. (I wouldn't be surprised if they tweaked it a little given this year's ... eccentricities. But the following point still stands.)

A rise could be less based on the week that just happened and more on the week that fell off the back end.

I'm still baffled that Shohei Ohtani is still a 66 speed. Dude is one of the fastest runners in the game. An 80 at least.

at this rate. Manny Machado will be a 99 by the end of the season. BTW Trea Turner is a good SS but he ain't better than Seager. Turner gonna be rated higher than Trout soon the way SDS is giving/upgrading ratings this year.

Play for one of the teams that the guys at SDS loves? There isn't a real criteria, look at Luke Voit going diamond before Ozuna and still nothing for Nelson Cruz killing it in MN. They play favorites that's all it is, they say they use stats but they don't.
