I feel you, i cannot hit a fastball above 95mph, but i keep thinking that it might not be a skill issue, probably a latency issue??? i play in a 300$ 55 inc tv...i cannot see fastballs...

I know enough about the game to know you need to get off that big screen and get you a nice 27” or 24” gaming monitor. The difference is night and day bro!

FWIW - I don’t think it’s likely mentioned enough, but to be great at this game takes skills or abilities which can’t be taught. Sure, with enough practice someone can always improve...but it’s difficult to teach yourself to have incredible eye sight, hand eye coordination, mental processing, etc etc.
I think it’s also important to try to keep some sort of perspective. If you frequent the reddit board you’d think “average” was being age least 700+ in RS. When the reality is the overwhelming majority are playing under that. So while it’s great to have goals and what to improve, so often you see the “how do I make ws” type posts and they tend to have little awareness that their basically asking how do I be the top “5-10” at something. I’m not sure if it’s just because it’s a “game” that gives the sense that anyone can do it, but I doubt there’s many other areas in life where people think they can get a few tips and go from competent to one of the best in the world in any other field/area.
Sorry, kind of going off on a bit of a rambling mess. Guess the overall point is the majority aren’t great - but it can still be fun, especially if you keep things in perspective...and if it isn’t fun, then the game probably isn’t worth obsessing over.

This is actually the problem, too many people think they are better at the game than they actually are and therefore they buy into all the conspiracy theories. I know its hard for people to accept but most of us will never even sniff the top 50.

I use a 43 inch tcl 5 series tv and have no issues hitting. Try changing your view at the plate, it might help

I can relate to this post.. The last few days I've been matching with 12-0 banners, WS banners and just freak hitters in the mid 600s! like are there any mediocre players like me I can compete against? It's just not any fun right now...
Those banners mean nothing. Last night I matched up with a guy that had a 5x flawless banner and proceeded to rip him a new one in an event game with him using [censored] near the same lineup i was. I struck him out like 6 time out of his 9 at bats and shut him out giving up 0 hits. Now I’m also a better than average player (average being .250 to .260 batting average and 4-5 Era)but what he was sporting led me to believe this guy was elite. He was far from it and probably cheated to get that banner. So that stuff means nothing to me in terms of the quality of the opponent.
Genuine question: how would a person be able to cheat to get those banners? I would never put up a banner like that - I think it’s kind of douchey (just my personal opinion), but I am curious to know if people I’m playing may not actually be that good.

Hitting is a joke since the first two weeks. Give up the early or late hit, homerun within the next 2 batters. And if you say bs, pitching rebel mgunskis, tulo and other high level players will state you know what’s coming. That’s not baseball that’s rng

Using matchmaking to get matched with a gaming friend. Not really sure it happens still but you used to be able to do that also there are people out there that deny service as well. I’m sure there are other but those two are the ones I know of

There are 2 things that really bother me with this game. The main one is that there are many games where it seems like I have no control whatsoever of the outcome. I usually know inning 1 if I will win or not. These are games where opponent is absolute garbage, swings at everything, yet no matter my input, balls go over the middle when pitching multiple times per at bat and solid contact results in pop flys galore. The other thing is kind of in line with the 1st and that is the pitching. It is near impossible to control any pitcher. The ball rarely goes where I put it. I use pure analog and have good input a minimum of 90% of the time but hit my spot maybe 20% of the time. I feel like hitting is fine if they removed whatever is causing the game to seem to favor one side or the other.
