I will never have what it takes to be an elite player! I’m simply not patient enough and for whatever reason I can’t square up the ball. I’ve put in thousands of hours at this game. What an embarrassment!!

Don't overthink it...key is patience and just wait for the type of pitches you know you can hit...

Patience is not that hard to learn, PCI placement on the other hand, been using zone since 17 and still look like a spaz at the plate.

Fastball grooved down the middle... and my PCI is in the dirt.

right there with you. Can't hit for $hit. I always pull the stick down too far, can't change the habit. it's very frustrating. the hours put in, i should be much better and divorced.

Like anything else, you have to practice.
Go into Custom Practice.
3-0 count, work on hitting fastballs.
0-2 count, work on taking pitches outside the zone.
In RS, force yourself to literally take the first two pitches, for a few games - it will force you to learn to track the ball with the PCI without swinging and you'll get much better quickly at squaring it up. With no pressure to swing, you will learn quicker than you think how to line up the PCI. Give it a try. -

Have you tried starting PCI low middle in the zone? I feel with starting it low you can see pitches better and I feel like I hit pee rockets on balls low. Some guys obviously throw up the entire game so you would have to adjust.

[censored] man dont be so hard on yourself. Trust me I know its frustrating loving a game and not being the best at it. I play some dudes that literally lay off anything not in the zone and absolutely smash anything in the zone. Take a break and come back. Usually helps me. That new Avengers game is tons of fun

I adjust my style of hitting, pci pre pitch placement, as the game goes. Most pitchers give away their tendencies in the first couple of innings. Try not to show your weak spots or swing at bad pitches early. As a pitcher I test the first couple of hitters, especially weak power hitters, to see what the hitters tendencies are.
