Beginner Questions - Where to Start for a '20 Newbie

2A. Collection rewards are never sellable. Inning boss rewards were all sellable in 19, and I don’t see any reason for that to change in 20.

I'm an avid MyTeam player over on 2K so I'm aware of the card collecting modes, and I've watched a lot of Koogs46's videos to get a feel of the how the game cycle works over the course of a year.
I know all the game modes / updates have been revealed yet, but I just have a few questions I'm hoping someone wouldn't mind taking the time to answer:
1. I got the $99 early access version. Is it smart to sell all my cards during the 4 days of early access? Will this be when whales that have the means to buy stubs / will want to over pay for random golds and (hopefully diamonds) that I pull?
1A. Or do I wait until after the 4 days so thousands of more ppl have the game to there’s more people willing to pay more?
1B. Do I sell the Diamond Big Papi or whatever diamond players I get in the choice pack? Will their value be highest day 1-4? I’m a Red Sox fan, so it would be cool to have the greatest clutch hitter who ever lived.
tl;dr - How do I maximize value from the free packs I get at the beginning? I want to collect all the live series eventually, but am in no rush.
2. As a beginner, is there a mode I should prioritize? It seems like conquest might be easy stubs / XP to get me started along with the 3 inning games.
2A. I don't think you can sell collection, or Inning Boss rewards cards, so what rewards cards can you sell, just Ranked Season's / BR?
3. I'm most worried about hitting, as it seems to be a difficult thing to learn. Can someone recommend the best YT video for hitting in general? I'm sure this new game will be different in some ways but any way I can get some sort of homework done will be helpful.
3A) Anyone know if the Show 18 or 17 or something is free to download on the PS Store to practice on?
4. How does the "Create-a-Player" factor into DD? I understand the consumables like gloves and bats can be put onto your player, but is that a good use of resources? Should those just be sold for stubs to use on player collections?
Just trying to gain a sense of whether its worth time to improve your created player or if that's sort of a gimmick.
I don't plan on ripping packs, but I'm not opposed to buying like $50 worth of stubs once or twice throughout the year to accelerate the grind.

Don't buy packs and for sure don't watch any streamers open packs. They open up diamonds like every 10 cards. It is a business strategy (and a good one I might add) by the devs to make the packs seem "lit". People watch streamers and think a diamond every 10 packs is legit. Highly unlikely for you and probably more like 1 in 100 or more.
You will have a much better team by buying players you want instead of packs.

Do you have stats to prove that? Because I once did an opening of 1000 headliners and my diamond % was 9.7%. I don't stream/make videos or anything. And when I say stats, I don't mean "feeling ones" where you are estimating, I mean written down ones where you tracked. Because that is what I did on that opening.
I agree with the premise, packs are not the best way to build a team, but your information is not provided on packs is not true.

Don't pay a ton of attention to this, Demise usually has his tinfoil hat on. Within the first couple days/weeks, you're absolutely going to overpay for players if you buy them piece by piece off the market.
IMO, ripping packs early is worth it because you can sell your cards to overpaying buyers and then use those stubs later on to buy the cards you really want off the market.

Pack odds for diamonds in standard is 1 in 50..... So you are way off. They are 2%. + Headliners were there in the beginning to, they limited you, but they were there.
And why didn't you show me your statistical proof of your claim? Since you know this is a fact, you have the actual proof right?
I'm not disputing that buying packs is a sunk cost, it most def is. But you're going about it in a misleading way with no proof whatsoever to your claims.

I don't plan on ripping packs, but I'm not opposed to buying like $50 worth of stubs once or twice throughout the year to accelerate the grind.

Don't buy packs and for sure don't watch any streamers open packs. They open up diamonds like every 10 cards. It is a business strategy (and a good one I might add) by the devs to make the packs seem "lit". People watch streamers and think a diamond every 10 packs is legit. Highly unlikely for you and probably more like 1 in 100 or more.
You will have a much better team by buying players you want instead of packs.
Do you have stats to prove that? Because I once did an opening of 1000 headliners and my diamond % was 9.7%. I don't stream/make videos or anything. And when I say stats, I don't mean "feeling ones" where you are estimating, I mean written down ones where you tracked. Because that is what I did on that opening.

Pack odds for diamonds in standard is 1 in 50..... So you are way off. They are 2%. + Headliners were there in the beginning to, they limited you, but they were there.
And why didn't show me your stats? Since you know this is a fact, you have actual proof right?
So 2% is way off from the 1 out of 100 and .15 that I put, OK!
Two years prior I had streaks of 300+ packs without diamond pulls. In 19, I only bought like 50 total and ended up with much better cards by buying instead of pulling packs.
Sounds to me like you work for SDS and want people to purchase packs.

Don't pay a ton of attention to this, Demise usually has his tinfoil hat on. Within the first couple days/weeks, you're absolutely going to overpay for players if you buy them piece by piece off the market.
IMO, ripping packs early is worth it because you can sell your cards to overpaying buyers and then use those stubs later on to buy the cards you really want off the market.

That's the comparison I was making. The comparison of buying diamonds off the market. Not golds. You're not down with packs? Cool. I'm not either. But it's a gamble that's more worth it to me when the potential reward is an overinflated sale price on the market.
