Is Roberto Alomar 700K good?
-
I bought him for 760k and used him in the event and wasn’t that impressed.
Especially for what he cost. So I sold him last night.
-
As both a tribe die-hard & mlb 17 former player this card was a massive L on many fronts.
-
He's been decent, 31 at-bats so far and has a 1.132 OPS, but in terms of cost, he's not worth it at all, Rod Carew has a 1.060 OPS for me in 225 at-bats, and that is a price difference of about 750k
-
He's only marginally better than Vidal Brujan. Slightly more contact, power, vision and fielding. Arm strength and accuracy is almost useless at 2b and they're still close. Brujan is faster. No way I'd spend that 700k + on him. Probably wouldn't even spend 300k.
-
I like his swing but he made 2 errors in the first 10 games I used him in that were the worst errors I have seen throughout the season.
-
He doesn’t fit the meta, if you don’t have 75 power or above your honestly a worthless card this year

Not true, there are some cards that have below 75 power are better than 'worthless"
Tons of people loved Vidal Brujan, he was a fan favorite for a long time. Rod Carew has a great swing and always produces.
Yes, in general having above 75 power is important, but you are painting with far to broad a brush.

I went 12 and 0 for zobrist.. Only time ever and never looked back. Very bias cubs fan tho. After 800 or so at bats hes hitting iver .340.
Nice, man!
I didn't go 12-0 in BR (ever) but I do have Ben Zobrist on my bench and is usually one of my first players off the bench to pinch hit or take on a fielding assignment.
He has been nearly impossible to take off my team.

That 99 Alomar from The Show '17 was the best card in the entire game though.

That’s because the online pitch speeds were so nerfed for that game. I actually couldn’t hit in that game because the speeds were so slow. I mean legend was like hitting on all star this year.

Jackie still my best 2nd baseman. I can’t see myself sitting him down. I recently bought Hornsby and moved Jackie to 3rd. With Jackie being basically free stubs wise and Hornsby being 100k I think no one is worth 700k stubs.
I want Wagner, Piazza and Ted but their cost is outrageous to me. I’ll rock the 94 Wagner and keep Kendall as my Catcher for now. I just can’t justify that much cost for a single card myself. To me not worth it

That’s the issue I want piazza and i will never buy him at the cost he will be. First year playing so much so missed out on piazza boss
-
He's expensive but his swing is great and he gets to ground balls that no other 2B in the game gets to.
-
RE : Piazza - He’s not great in this game, for whatever reason he doesn’t play to his stats offensively and horrible defensively and slow. Your not missing out on anything for real, he was cheap last year and no one used him regardless.
Robbie is a huge let down this year and def not worth 200k let alone 7

There is no way he is worth 700k, the only card in this game worth that much might be Ruth or MVP Trout and both those cards can be had for free. It’s because there are only like 100 of those cards in existence. And that might be pushing it because who would select that card at 12-0.
I agree that Alomar is definitely not worth the Stubbs, but Trout is definitely not free! lol. Cost me around 600K to collect everything. Now it's around 425K for Trout collection.

I haven’t paid a red cent extra in this game other than the 60 bucks I initially dropped to buy the game and have Trout. When I say free I mean real money investment.

That wasn't clear because you mentioned Trout being free in the same sentence as saying Alomar was too expensive: "There is no way he is worth 700k, the only card in this game worth that much might be Ruth or MVP Trout and both those cards can be had for free. "
-
I paid 850k. No complaints from me, I love Alomar.

I get it, but you really can get that collection without spending stubs if you’re incredibly lucky with your pack pulls. I’d like to know if anybody has accomplished that feat.
