Completing LS Collection

After spending all season thinking LS was beyond my grasp, I finally decided to knock out the big seven. I spent about two weeks flipping the market and selling old bosses and cards...well yesterday I finished off the collection and am back up to 150k stubs with more market flipping and investing on the way. FLUSH WITH (FAKE) CAAASSSHHHHHFor anyone who thinks they can't do it. You absolutely can. I'm trash online and not good enough to consistently beat showdown, so the market was my only path towards Mantle. There are multiple ways to get it done; pick the one that works for you.
If you're still on the fence, just know that I believe in you. You can do it.
Now to do exchanges to knock out all the TA...I've only got two teams up to 100%...most are below 30...gonna take some stubs.

Nice, must be a good feeling to have finished that out. With some real money I was able to get Biggio... wont get mantle and wont try for him. Obviously he is one of the best cards to have but my outfield is stacked already... not to mention I discovered this site and learned a lot about the game and cards that I did not know before.. so I wasted a ton of stubs prior to learning all I have learned... which is why I have like 20 teams at 100% lol wasted so many stubs doing exchanges for TA.... almost always just from doing buy now on cards because I never realized how easy it was to get cards for exchanges at like half the cost of the buy now price by using "buy orders" anyway have fun with the TAs. They are enjoyable to complete and you can either pick up some old players you like or at the very least have a bunch of packs to open when you're done

Definitely a big accomplishment. Congrats. The bad news comes when you realize you can't hit with Mantle!

They just started a stub sale. Hold off if you can; prices will be inflated for a bit.

Looks like everything only went up by a small percentage.

Looks like everything only went up by a small percentage.
I'll keep an eye out. I'm really only short some of the big ticket items like Cole and Verlander and they went up a fair amount.

I think it's three reasons:

You're super excited you finally have The Mick so you're swinging at everything. Then you realize you're not hitting so now you're pressing. Opposing pitchers tend to be more cautious pitching to Mantle so patience is paramount.

Mick doesn't have a leg kick or a big load to help with timing while the majority of the other players do.

Initially, I had slotted Mantle second in the lineup order but he was taking too many strikes as I tried to concentrate to steal a base with 99 Jackie. Then when the base was stolen, now there's an open base and the pitcher nibbles at the corners. This compounds the hitting difficulty.
How do you fix this?
- Bat Mantle leadoff. This will help you be more patient, get better pitches, etc. This will also help with the leg load issue because he will be the first batter you use. I set my lineup so that there is a gradual build-up of leg loads. This also prevents pitchers from nibbling as no one wants to walk the leadoff batter. Eventually, you break out of your slump and realize that Mantle is truly the GOAT. Now you can move him out of the leadoff spot if you desire ( but don't bat him second because of the reasons aforementioned).

Update: Flash sales on LS was clutch. I was able to pick up remaining one collection this morning!

Whatever they did to the market this weekend, I'm loving it.
Biggest day of flipping since January.
