Four times as many Smoltz cards as Brewers legends on the market. Nice...

Also, Robin Yount won an MVP at both Shortstop and center field. He will never get 2 cards. Braves love is too obvious this year.

Yeah, I know that the Braves got a lot of attention in this years version but tbh that’s because the game finally got the rights to use Maddux, Glavine, and Smoltz all in the same year. Also the brewers don’t get a lot of love because that team doesn’t have much in the way of great legends to pick from. They have two HOF that went in with Brewers colors and had 4 others play for them at some point in their careers. That’s not a lot to pick from. Those Braves are all HOF’s. Just an observation😀

I understand all the history, and fully aware with the Brewers lack of success. It’s more specifically that the Brewers have 2 HOFers in this game and seems pretty likely they will end up with only 1 legend card on the market, unless they give Molitor a SS card... yet Smoltz has 4 diamond cards.

I am trying to be a little annoying so they go after some past Brewers players rights like Prince Fielder and Ben Sheets next year.

Oh hey, look a Bumgarner SS. Well then. Carry on.

As soon as I saw him as the event reward I thought of this post and chuckled to myself.

    Hahaha, I chuckled too.

He was only a CP for 3.5 of his 21 seasons. It does seem very odd to give him a SS card as a CP.

He had 262 innings pitched and almost 154 saves, he set a National League Record with 55 saves his first year as a closer....

Read this article from Tony Gwynn back in 2002 or 2003....

FWIW that 92 diamond closer card was the mistake not this one.

He had 3,000+ innings as a starter and 260 as a closer. C’mon man it’s not even close. There is no other signature card (which is supposed to represent an entire career) where they would make the primary position the one the player played for 3.5 of his 21 seasons and less than 10% of his actual playing time.

Anyone else have 200 wins and 150 saves at elite peripherals? Not to mention considered one of the top handful of Postseason Pitchers ever

Not gonna argue because I do agree that he shouldn't have 2 CP cards.....But he should have a High 90s SP and CP card. If they hadn't released that 92 overall All-Star CP card so early in the season this card would be lauded.

This 96 card actually has the arsenal correct and the attributes

I think both Braves and Brewers fans can agree that we need a Bob Uecker card, right?

Ben Oglivie, Cecil Cooper, and Pete Vuckovich from earlier years. Burnitz, Jenkins, Sexson, Nilsson, and Cirillo are as worthy as some of the players they have been pushing out for some franchises as well (Ellsbury, Victorino?)

I don’t mind him having a CP card or even two. But the Signature card is supposed to best reflect their entire career and between SP and CP the choice is an obvious one. As I said before no other signature card would make the primary position a position the guy played at less than 10% of his career.
